Re: Junko, calico kitten
My hooman caught me tossing my prized possession in the hall way this morning. I gave her a dirty look when she took my prized possession.
Junko
She found a dead mouse and was tossing it. It went flying outside.

MOL! I love playing with prized possessions. I have not had one in a while, but when I got one, I played too. Your human isn't very nice for taking YOUR possession. But, my meowmy says they can make you sick, so maybe she was trying to be sure you are safe.
Mouski
At least she had done it in before she tossed it. They're funny about how they play with their prized possessions.

I have no way knowing if the mice that got brought in were safe to eat or not. It's not worth giving the cats a chance to eat mice not knowing if the mice were carrying disease.

Agreed! Even if the mice haven't been into anything poisonous, they probably have something icky in them. Better to be safe.

While I was at work yesterday, I got text from my mom about Jack bringing in another live mouse only to let it loose in the house. I was about to get ready for bed when I caught Junko on the bed with mouse in mouth. She took off to the kitchen and my mom saw it. The mouse was barely moving it got dropped. Mouse went outside and got put out of its misery.

So they're tag teaming. He brings live ones, and she gets rid of them. Crafty kitties!

Sigh, Junko showed off a mouse to my dad today. I think it was injured.

Re: Junko, calico kitten
It is a habit for mice to be shown already injured or completely dead.

Re: Junko, calico kitten
My dad found a mouse(presumably dead) underneath a area rug in the family room while vacuuming today. Cats were guarding the hallway closet as if there is a mouse in there. It might have made its way to another area of the house since Junko was chasing something. Sigh

Yikes. I hope the rodents move out once it gets reliably warm. It sounds like a full-on assault.

We want the mice to leave, preferably some way other than dead cat toys.

Re: Junko, calico kitten
It sounds terrible, but sometimes they need to be removed through poison or traps. We've had to do that before because the kitties couldn't keep up.

There are mouse traps in a few places in the house.

Re: Junko, calico kitten
We had to put down some poison. I hate doing it, but when they start taking over, it's time for full assault. I was very lucky and none of them stayed around after they nibbled the cubes. I was worried the cats would eat a poisoned one, but thank goodness, the mice had the manners to go outside to leave the world. Sigh... I hope I don't have to do that again.

Re: Junko, calico kitten
My hooman took my big prized possession away from me one day last week. I gave a dirty 'How dare you' look when it got taken away.
Junko
She presented my mom a good size mouse and my mom took it outside. Of course, this happen during the night while my mom was still up.

Re: Junko, calico kitten
Mouski tried to catch one that was rattling around behind the stove. It never came out, didn't leave any evidence that it had been here, and seems to be gone. I'm thankful!
