Mouski. I think he was fascinated because the scary thing was moving so fast. He kind of smushed it by batting it around. I was still creeped out picking up its body. I am not a fan of spiders.

Brave boy! I can see the Mouski/GK team doing it in, but GK was sound asleep. Old kitty-itis took over.

OMG! I saw a MOUSE in my kitchen. It was sitting on the window sill just waiting for me to rinse my coffee cup. Kitties! You're falling down on the job. Shocked

The fat b**tard was moseying around the living room today, and both cats were sound asleep. Sigh... I am grossed out.

Apparently, we had an infestation. Mouski was hot on the job today. He successfully caught three. I think there's one more hiding behind the fridge, but he's keeping his eyes open. I hope there aren't any more, but I have a sinking feeling. I don't know why they came in. It's been years since we had a mouse, and now we have a bunch. I guess it's better than rats. Rolling Eyes

Weather, they were looking for a food source and shelter. You would have thought the barn a better place. Still way to go Mouski.

It has been a weird winter with lots of bad weather. Still, I'd rather they stayed in the outbuildings if the NEED to be inside something. The snakes should be waking up soon, so maybe they will be gone. We have a black snake that hangs out under the house. He is welcome since he cleans up any rodents. Come on, Mr. Snake! Wake up!!

There was a hawk in the birdbath yesterday. I did get some snaps but I really needed my longer lens.

I saw a big one in a tree when Bingo and I were walking yesterday.

Today, the kitties caught ANOTHER rodent.I haven't seen any evidence of nests on invasion, so they must have caught this one on his way inside to see if it's worth coming. It wasn't. He didn't survive his adventure. Mad

I don't know what's trying to move into Lu's stall, but it dug a hole in the corner. I don't like that. I pushed dirt back into the hole, and gifted it with a doggie "land mine" under the dirt. That should keep whatever it is away. Sigh... This is the year of wildlife invasions, I think.

Ruby and I got swooped by a STINKY buzzard. It was gross - smelled of death. She was unfazed and I was just grossed out. She picked up the pace to get away from the icky thing.

We're being adopted by a pair of Canada geese. They don't have a gosling with them, so I think they're youngsters who might not have had a successful nest. They are in the back yard and totally unfazed by my puttering with the horses. They honk, but don't go anywhere. I try to stay out of their way since I know they can be aggressive if they feel threatened. The only thing I wish they'd do is use somewhere else as the bird potty. They have been leaving presents in all the walking paths.

I think domestic geese have attitudes. These geese seem perfectly happy to mind their own business (except for where they DO their business). Laughing

The geese are almost tame! I was out in the paddock calling Ruby, and one goose snuck in right behind me. If I had stretched, I could have touched it. It wasn't in attack pose. It was just happily moseying by on its way to the (now shallow) water. I'm kind of confused by this. Normally, they fly away from me. Now, I'm part of the flock? Ruby was a little confused too. She kept staring at them as if to say, "Stay away, you freaky two leggers."

Maybe they associate you with food? Do you put grain out for the horses?

No. I haven't given them anything. The horses eat in their stalls, so the geese don't know about it. Not sure what's going on except that I've made a point not to threaten them. I must just be part of the landscape.
