Re: Bingo found a home
So, we decided to hold off on a second nasal swab. Bingo's nose hasn't had the thick, yucky discharge for a while, and the vet thinks he might be cleared up. We're going to wait and see.
He does, however, have an ear infection. Very yucky ear. He got both cleaned, and got some meds put into the icky one. He goes back in a month for an ear check to be sure the meds are working.

I think his ear has been bad for a while. He always used to scratch it, and look uncomfortable. Now, he is holding his head level, and hasn't touched his ear since Thursday. Once we get a handle on the allergy itching and ear, he will be good as new. We're getting there.

The vet called today to make sure the dog dog is feeling good. I love that they check on their patients.

He's feeling GREAT. The good weather, warmer temperatures, and clear nose are fantastic. He is running around the yard, he's going on speedy walks, and he is back to always begging for chewies. Happy pup!
We have to make an appointment to check his ear, but we are going to wait for a while. The vet said to give it about a month.

I'm pretty happy about the nose. I was so worried about a long lasting problem or extra cost. But it seems cleared up now. I haven't seen anything for about 2 weeks. Happy pup mom!

And of course, he had to snoodle in the stalls this morning, and got hay/shavings stuck to his nose. I swear he wants to sniff everything. HOUNDS. A little paper towel action cleared everything up, and he had a little runny nose after, but nothing concerning. It was like if we sniff something up by accident. Sigh... Hounds.

My brother and I had bird dogs. Let me put it this way I always knew when there were doves at the feeders.

Bingo goes nuts for squirrels. Walker coon hound. He's successfully chased off the coons, so now he's after the squirrels (who are much more dedicated to bird feeder robbery).

That has got to be funny. The squirrels here won't touch the feeder, the don't like safflower and they for sure won't get near the chili infused suet.

Re: Bingo found a home
Our squirrels don't like the safflower or chili suet, but they get up on the "cheap feed" feeders. We keep that for the sparrows and doves. They don't care about what's in their feeders, and we figure that it's less expensive to donate some of the cheap stuff to the squirrels than to fill all the feeders with the fancy seed.
And, since the squirrels are robbing the cheap stuff, it gives Bingo some daily exercise.

Poor pup. He went to play care today, and was having a great time. They called me a little before lunch time to say that he had a rash on his leg and was licking it. Other dogs were helping him lick too. (EEW!) They put him in a private room with a cone for a while, and it seemed to go away. He got to go back to finish his day of play. He is scheduled for his itchy shot on Saturday now. I think I will also look into the prescription food that is supposed to help allergic skin. I think the grass is getting to him. We mowed yesterday, and of course he was rolling around in the yard. Silly dog!

Re: Bingo found a home
Bingo will be going to play care 2 days/week every other week now. My schedule for long commutes has changed, so he doesn't have to do any time at home by himself. It's good that he has kitty companions, but his alone days are very stressful for him. He will be a very tired pup, but a happier pup. And, if he gets too tired, they do have the rooms where doggies can have some alone time to rest. They even have nap time like kindergarten.

I do love my houndie. He really does love to be with people. Other dogs are great, but he is really happy with people nearby.

Chancey my brittainy was like that. Contessa on the other hand was so bonded to me that she stressed when I wasn't there. She and the the kitties saw me through my period of homelessness. they saved my life.

The grass pollen is beating us all up. Poor Bingo is all congested, and I've been having some sneeze fits. The trees were bad a few weeks ago, and now the trees. I know Bingo can't wait until it's done.
