nsal tour end 4/11

just got the email about the adoption tour coming to an end in NYC on WEDS 4/20. esh....i doubt i can make it cuz its the middle of the week (and i'm asking for 4/23 off for earth day and a lot of days off later on at the end of themonth). I wish they'd bring it back to Sat. last year warrior and some of her famly met up with me there and there didn't seem to be as many people as there used to be when it was at FAO.

is anyone planning on going this year?i think its at Radio City this year.

I think that they are going to be in Ft.Worth this year but
I'm not sure.

i didn't get any info abotu the start of the tour this year....they start here andeworks their way across the states and back to NYC. its always a nice thing ot go to ...i save up some money to donate and get some neat little goodies as well. Last year it was the same day as this John Frieda(Freida?) event ..andit was only a block away.

I completely forgot about it this year, since they moved it last year, and since its during the week, I can't get off.

Jeane are you doing Grande Central this year for Earth day?

yeah,i asked for Sat off....because its easter weekend i can't take more than that, but i don't mind taking the one day off.(I"ll be working on Easter..i think they give us time and a half if we work...though its always a short day).
if they happen to give me that weds off of the NSAL i might go....its just hard cuz i have to take into consideration the cost of the bus fare. $20 adds up when i'll be going into the city three other times this month!

maybe we can get together on Saturday for the earthday thing at Grand central

sure....don't know what is going on there this year but there's always something interesting! Last year i met Matthew Modine;) there's an event this monday from garnier where you turn in your old make up bottles...i wonder if they're going to be at earth day.

i just realized that without asking for it i got this day off...but the problem is the cost of the bus back and forth. as much as i'd like to go (cuz this is when i give them whatever sort of donation i can afford) i don't know if i can afford the bus on Weds and again on Sat AND then again next Thurs (Marek is going a program/lecture whatever you call it at MoCCA...don't know if i can stay for it and catch a good bus home but at least i plan on going into the city and meeting up with him for at least a few minutes)and then try to get to see Patrick in Metchen on the 30th.
i hate that it costs me almost a full day's pay just for the bus!

hey jeane, have you found a way to get to Metuchen other than coming in to NYC and then going there?
I'll probably go to metuchen as well.

how would you get there? would you be taking a bus or train from near your house or go into the city to catch it? if you'll be taking a bus or train from the city i might be able to get there and go from there with ya. doesn't have to leave from the PA...i can find my way to Grand Central and Penn Station (though i've only been there once i think i've walked past it a couple times at least).
i just have to make sure i get some money from the bank so i have travellin' money!

I take the New Jersey transit train from penn station in NY, so i would be taking the subway into the city. I could probably meet you at Penn Station in NY. I'll have to see if I can get a train scchedule from NJT to see what time we would have to be there.

yeah find out the times and how much the train would be....trying to get my transportation money together. (I know,paranoid, but i have my bus money for Sat together already!).

okay, the event at Metuchen starts at 2PM which means we would need to get either the 11:14 train which gets in at 12 or the 12:14 which gets in at 1pm . I suggest getting the earlier train so we can get something to eat and browse. there is another used book store near the Raconteur.
the cost is $11 each way. I don't think there is a discount for round trip

oo....$22 for the train and $20 for the bus? i really don't think i can afford to do that. that's over $40;(

I know. You'd think there would be an easier way if you live in jersey to get somewhere. I know when I go to visit my friend in South Jersey I've got to take greyhound at $39 rount trip and she still has to pick me up and drive a half hour home.
