R.I.P E.L. Konigsburg 1930-2013

The author and illustrator of the children's classic From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Bail E. Frankweiler has died today at the age of 83. She wrote many other books too. She was the only writer to win the Newbery Medal and Honor in the same year...and she did it with her first two books! I brought Files at a yard sale a few years ago and I can say it held up very well re-reading it as an adult.
