A "Savage" rescue story Empty A "Savage" rescue story

Post by gbste Wed May 15, 2013 3:01 pm

This morning, one of our school's bus drivers saw a kitten in the gutter as she was bringing some of our students to school. She stopped the bus, (even though some students said she should "leave the kitten there." "I have a heart," she answered) and a student picked up the kitten and brought it to school. The kitten ended up with me, as I have a large store room where the kitten can safely stay during the school day. The boy who helped rescue the kitten has his parents' permission to bring him home, and he's decided to name the kitten "Savage," as that is our school's (politically incorrect) mascot. I will have a word with him, as the kitten needs to see a vet TODAY for his severe eye infection. If he can't get the kitten to the vet, I will do so.

What a marvelous story. I'm glad the bus driver has a heart, and the student is growing a great one too. Gives me hope for the world. And, yes, please give updates when/if you can. Flower

The boy stopped by and picked up the kitten after school, which is a good sign. He was going to take the kitty straight to the vet. Even though this is a small school, I had never seen or heard of this kid before yesterday, so it will be hard to track him down for an update. As much as I was tempted to "steal" the kitty and care for him myself, I couldn't really do that, so I'm hoping really hard that this boy will right by the kitty. I did tell him that if things didn't work out, he could bring the kitty back to me. So far, he as not done so. Fingers crossed.

There are LOTS of crossed fingers that kid & kit know nothing about. If vibes/prayers/good thoughts work, there should be a good outcome here. What can I say? Fingers crossed. I love you

Thank heavens that lil guy was found. I do think his name should've been Lucky......since that is what he was to have so many elements come together to get him off the street and into a good home.
What chances of getting updates? I'd love to know how he's getting on.

I haven't heard anything. The student is not in any of my classes, so that's not so unusual. I told him if he had any problems with the kitten to bring him back, so no news is probably good news.

It's a small school, so eventually I'll hear something. Just hope it's good news.
