Hey! I just changed a setting to show events from this board on the Members Special Events topic, and it showed up on the calendar AND as a new topic! We'll have to play with this one a bit... I'll bet I could change it to the Tell Us about your furkids one and it would show up there instead...have to go look.

I put up an announcement about Hildegard's birthday, but it didn't show up on the calendar.
I can't figure it out!

Look in the Members' & Furry Friends' Special Events topic - they show up there.

Today is Argo & Lyra's 6th birthday! Unfortunately for me, they're on the road to AZ with my husband today. They left yesterday, and spent the night at a La Quinta in Springfield, MO. Tonight they will be at another LQ in Amarillo, TX. Tomorrow night will be in Gallup, NM, and then to the new house in AZ. Quite an adventure for the babies!

Yes, it is. Isn't it Argo who is prone to car sickness. how's he doing?

Re: Happy Birthday Argo & Lyra!
As a youngster, Argo was quite carsick. He's MUCH better now that he's a big boy, but he still isn't thrilled with car rides. Wes has arranged for him to be laying in his dog bed, rather than to be up with Lyra in the carseat. He seems to like that better because he just goes to sleep. He likes going places because he likes the end result. He still has to be picked up and carried to the car though - as soon as he sees you're approaching the car, the butt sits down and won't budge.

I had to laugh at that image. That is so funny. Happy to hear that he is traveling better.

Wesley and the pups are in the hotel in Amarillo now. He said they're being so good on the trip that you hardly know they're back there. Wesley did mention that the two of them decided to switch places sometime this afternoon. Lyra laid down in the dog bed and Argo got up into the car seat!

Awww! Happy birthday, kids. Such a big adventure for your big day. Did you know your folks bought you a HOUSE somewhere warm just as the weatherman is talking about another cold winter?

I gather that's unusual. Good for Argo.

It's pretty unusual for Argo to enjoy looking out in the carseat. He often travels sitting in it, but lays down and doesn't enjoy the view like Lyra does. They covered three states on their big birthday!
Re: Happy Birthday Argo & Lyra!
Maybe it was the novelty of all new sights to see? I imagine the climate is different, the trees, everything....so Argo noticed and got curious enough to ride in the car seat for once.

I imagine that had something to do with it. They probably both were getting pretty bored after several days of riding in the car too. A little change of scenery might have helped there too.
