Ramsey, a lost Yorkie
Poor Ramsey disappeared last week when his crate fell off a conveyor at JFK airport in New York

which reminds me that noone has ever found Vivi, the prize whippet, who also got loose at JFK a few years ago

I'm sure somebody found Vivi, and took her in. At least I hope so.
Ramsey looks just like Maggie. I hope they find Ramsey soon, the weather is going to change for the colder in only a few more weeks and a lil pupper like Ramsey doesn't have enough fuzz to stay warm.

sounds like jfk needs to have better people handling their bags! (i can't remember where it was on the list of the worst US airports but i'm pretty sure the NY and NJ airports were in the top 10).
poor pooch....so small he could be picked up and stuffed into somebody's pocket.

Hmm...You don't suppose someone is stealing those dogs and then saying, "The crate fell off the conveyor belt."

If they're doing that, how on earth are they smuggling the pets off the airport premises? Isn't it all fenced in to keep wildlife off the runways?

Re: Ramsey, a lost Yorkie
ya know, thinking about this, why did the person put the dog in a crate and under the plane to start with? a yorkie is certain small enough to fit in a sherpa and put under the seat! if the person really cared about the pooch they would have gone that route!

I know you could smuggle a small dog out under your coat, but since the dog does not know you wouldn't it at least whine or move around a little bit?
And I agree, a small dog should be in the cabin with its peoples, not flown as cargo!

ya never know with dogs...some are friendlier than others and will go with anyone. and if you really wanted to steal pure breeds you'd probably carry something with ya to sedate the dog in the first place.

No, these people work on the KISS principal.
You life the crate and move it to a different area.
All you have to do is look like you belong. you be amazed
at how many events I've gotten into just by wearing nice slacks,
silk shirt and matching shoes and carrying a camera. No questions
asked.

Re: Ramsey, a lost Yorkie
that's true in a lot of things...though i think people are more careful around here...in NY or NJ if you leave an empty suitcase out by the trash (to be taken as trash) its reported as suspicious and they spend a couple thousand bucks bringing in the SWAT team to try to defuse it!
