I had some fun on my birthday! Mom took me out for a leisurely lunch at Pizza Ranch for the buffet for my birthday. Only had enough time between my shifts to get ready, have lunch, and go back to work. byt hen the library was packed and I couldn't get a computer to save my life! Lunch was good though: I had one piece of pizza, multiple lil pieces of chicken, cheesy bread, green beans, handmade potato chips, chocolate pudding (how could I not have chocolate?), and made myself a rootbeer float despite their not being a glass to make it in. Should've seen the looks from other diners.....apparently they never thought of doing that with a soup bowl. LOL

Bijoux was all over me since I smelled so delicious.

Again, why not? Lol! Mugs are handy things. I've eaten everything from cereal to stew to ice cream from them. (That was before I realized ice cream was best eaten straight from the container. )

I have a giant mug at work that serves as a soup bowl, oatmeal bowl and coffee mug when I'm REALLY tired. It's the best mug ever. (And, now I'll be putting root beer floats in it since friends bought ice cream to work and I can get rood beer tomorrow.)

Your post reminded me of something from the old official Mutts board - do you remember one of our sillier members who used to always celebrate any occasion by mentioning root beer floats? Someone here will surely remember her - wasn't she the one with atrocious spelling and the beautiful white cat named Marshmellow?

Never mind - I think I may be mixing two people up. I think the root beer celebrations were initiated by someone named Kiwimangotango (or something similar). Marshie was owned by someone else. Both were lousy spellers though.

I remember Kiwi and Marshie's mom. They were both kids, I think, and for some reason they don't teach spelling any more. I think it was Kiwi who had a thing for root beer floats.

I'm a terrible speller myself, but I sure as heck had to learn some rules and memorize some words. These days, with spell check, there's really no excuse, but I continue to missspell anyway. As proof, I will not spellcheck this post.

how do you spellcheck on here?
I'm actually a very good speller, but an awful typist, and I'm always in a hurry to get through the posts so they come out looking as if I'm totally illiterate. (except for this one. LOL)

Good point. Spell check isn't everywhere yet, although I have no idea why not; it's certainly needed! I keep a Google toolbar in place just for the spell check option.

Personally, I never learned to type so I'm very slow and in the habit of reading my posts before I send them. If I thought I knew what I was doing, I'm sure my fingers would fly and I'd hit SEND before I looked.

How was your rootbeer float Becky? And did everyone envy your large mugful of it?
