Thanks, Everyone. I had a quiet birthday. I took some time off from work Monday and Tuesday. (have to use up thevacation time or will lose it).
I went to the diner last night. I was going to get myself some lambchops but the price was outrageous (I'll compromise and by them myself and make them), so i geot something else.
While I was eating the waitresses were singing happy birthday to someone in the dining room. later the birthday guy comes out and very obnoxiously starts ranting at the waitress about his bill and that he was charged for his birthday cake. The waitress took the charge off his bill, but then another guy in his party comes out and wants his slice of cake taken off his bill. He was told only the birthday boy gets the free cake.
I'm still eating and listening to all this when they waitresses start singing Happy Birthday to someone else in the back .
I mentioned to the waitress that today was my birthday but I was almost afraid to request a slice of cake. She was sweetness and light to me and brought me a huge piece of strawberry cheesecake- on the house- and the waitresses all sang to me.
