Re: Happy Birthday Mockingbird!
Thank you so much, dear Magdalene!
I am on my own for most of the day, but I will give myself the best day I can
and then I will have dinner and celebrations with Joshua after his work (he has a civilian
job now as the armed guard in front of the Bank of America in Savannah.)
Yay for birthdays and yay for good friends!
Thank you again, sweet Magdalene. ♥

Happy Birthday, Twin. Sorry it's late but I couldn't access emails on our Big Day. I took the day off from work.
Hope you had a most enjoyable time with Joshua.

Re: Happy Birthday Mockingbird!
Thank you, everyone!
It was a good day...mostly on my own as Joshua has a civilian job now and my new job hasn't started yet. I went by the chocolate shop here in town and they gave me a gift and some free chocolate and all hugged me (can you tell I go to the chocolate shop a lot? haha!) In the evening, Joshua took me to Olive Garden (we could have gone to a fancier place, but I told him let's use our gift card we had!) It was good, I LOVE the Ravioli di Portabello there. oooh, yummy! At the end, Joshua ordered the "Celebration Cake" and we expected singing as is usual with Olive Garden. Instead, just the cake and NO singing! We were so confused and I was disappointed but told him it was ok. While I went to the restroom before we left, Joshua asked about it and was told that too many people had complained about the singing and it was company policy now to not sing. Wow! What a bunch of crab apples to have complained!
When we got home, Joshua sang Happy Birthday to me. So, my mama sang it to me on the telephone that morning and my husband sang it to me that evening, and those are the most important people in my life (well, and my father! but he didn't sing) so that is good enough for me.
Thanks everyone, again, for the sweet birthday wishes.

And sour crab apples at that. Still glad you had a great time and best to both you
and Joshua.

Sounds like a very good day! Chocolate & hugs? What could be better! They must love you like we do, and we know why. And hey, Olive Garden is a great place to go! I'd rather go there than some stiff fancy formal place. But no singing?? I shall write in protest! But never mind. Like you said, those who mattered sang. And you know your babes sing to you in their hearts every day! (Especially at dinner time! )

Sounds like a good birthday (how could it not be with chocolate!) despite the sour apples changing Olive Garden's policy. You know those who love you most sing to you whenever you like.

Re: Happy Birthday Mockingbird!
I absolutely cringe to think that someone in a restaurant might sing to me if they find out it's my birthday, but I'd never have a problem it if they do it for others. Wes & I both make sure to tell them that there's a birthday if we are celebrating out and want to order a special dessert or something, but PLEASE don't sing to us!
Olive Garden is so noisy most of the time that it can't be that they're trying to make it a quiet dining venue. I wonder what the complaints were about...
