Nothing wrong with his little cat brain -- he's clearly all cat! They say you can't miss what you never had. That's the sort of thing humans tend to ponder endlessly. Bless his little heart, Anakin just gets on with it!

Isn't that the truth. The other thing is that somewhere the person who trapped him
said it took two days.

Ani has moxie, that's for sure. He looks a lot like Freddie, a 4 legged foster I had last year. He also was pretty sure of himself.

I think he's the perfect candidate for a kitty wheelchair. I have to wonder though, how does he manage litterbox duty?

He can hold himself up on his front legs. When he runs, he doesn't drag his butt at all. He can probably manage the litterbox just fine.

Can he hold himself up high enough not to be sitting in a wet spot when he goes?

They don't say, and of course there are no videos of that, but he looks pretty clean. He probably can balance for short periods w/out touching.

I must admit my monkey nature makes me curious about how he manages bathroom duties, but clearly he has it figured out or he's be a sad mess by now. Wouldn't it be fascinating to see vid of that, though? Clever boy!

I wonder if he does a sort of handstand like our first dog used to do? Tiny lil peekapoo who did handstands so other dogs would think he was bigger when they checked the p-mail on the trees.

He sure is! He'd make a great therapy cat, to show handicapped kids that life is what you make of it and not what it throws at you.

Re: Anakin the two legged miracle cat
That boy is a wonder of balance! But cats are masters of that, aren't they? If anyone can do this, a cat can. And, it seems, does.
I applaud you, Ani!
We humans think you have an enormous disability. Apparently, we're wrong.

Since he not only is missing his rear legs, but also his pelvis, he isn't very heavy in the rear, so that probably helps these gymnastic abilities.

Re: Anakin the two legged miracle cat
Can't see the pics but I did finally get to see a video of him playing with what looked like a sparkle ball. He is so cute! I can see he leans a bit forward so his front legs are nearly in the middle of his weight so he balances pretty well. My mom was amazed.

Re: Anakin the two legged miracle cat
Saw that pic of him finally (thanks for sending it to my email). I can see he'd have no problem tending to kitty litterbox duties. I presume his lack of a pelvis did not also mean a lack of the muscles and control required for those duties.

This little guy has his own blog! http://anakintwoleggedcat.blogspot.com/ And on that blog are links to loads of videos too. You can literally watch him grow up. And read all about how she got him, and where too.

Re: Anakin the two legged miracle cat
Mom and I watched the first 6 videos....saving the rest for later. Shared the link too with several people. Wasn't it amazing how he tried to leap into midair? I know he only made it a few inches off the floor, but still.....he managed to leap. Nothing keeps this little guy down.

Re: Anakin the two legged miracle cat
We just checked on this little guy a couple days ago....he's doing great. And he has a plume tail now that's almost as lush as Tatiana's. When he sits down you almost can't tell he doesn't have any back legs.

He sure grew up to be a beautiful big boy, didn't he? I loved the video of him trying to get that feather toy away from his roomie.
