Re: Hummies! :)
I bet that baby doesn't make that mistake again.
Ours are eating us out of house and home, hummies and seed eaters!
The baby hummies are getting even faster when they zoom around! I wonder how fast they're going....anyone anywhere ever clock a hummie flying?

I just had to buy a 3 lb. bag of sugar. They've gone through the 10 lbs. I bought at the beginning of the season.
Someone has measured a bunch of things about hummies.

They are definitely going away for the winter. We have one or two at the feeders now, and I think they're passing through. They seem much more shy than the residents.

I don't know that stuff either. 30mph for such a small bird is impressive!
Our hummies are starting to leave too (I haven't seen those babies for a few days now) and we're getting shy ones in their place. I told mom we have to leave the feeders up until we get a killing frost, just in case a straggler or two from up north are passing through.

That's my plan. It's taking a long time for my last feeder filling to go down. I will need to refresh the juice since it gets yucky if they don't drink it.

I haven't seen one in a while. I wonder if we're done for the year. It hasn't gotten chilly yet, so I'll leave one feeder out for a while more.

Ours have been gone for several weeks now. I miss the little guys zooming around, so does Bij.

Me too. I brought the feeders in and have to do a little more cleaning before I put them away.
