Jeane Simpson
I just wanted everyone to know that Jeane Simpson has passed. She was one of the original members of this forum. In fact she goes back to the original forum that was run by Mutts itself. I don't have any details but I do know that she had been in ill health for quite a spell.

This was shocking to say the least. I had never met her but over the years she did several kind things for me and Antonio

Oh no! I hadn't heard that. I know she was going back in the hospital. I thought she was on the mend but with a long way to go. How awfully sad.

It is. A mutual friend called to let me know. She will let me know of cat rescues that I can make a donation in not her name but also in the name of her beloved Salem.

Re: Jeane Simpson
Her friend Lorel sent me the name of the Wayne Township Animal Control. I'll try to do a better job of getting a link later. I know it's animal control but they need help too. I'm thinking about donating $25.00 in Jeane and Salem's name, they can use the money to underwrite the adoption fee of an adult black cat. Jeane did love them so.

I know she had health issues she tried to get straightened out, so I thought. If I may put a bright spot in a time of sadness in the forum, she isn't suffering.

Yes, her health was not really getting much better. One thing was leading to another. It seemed like she had found some help, but I agree. It is a small comfort that she isn't in pain any more.

Re: Jeane Simpson
OMG, I had no idea! What a shock.........I can't believe she's gone.
Jeane was my very first online friend. We sent the same little box back and forth with things for each other for years. I remember her from the old forum and 10 rescue kitties.
How many were left, any of them? I know Salem was a big favorite of hers, she loved black kitties so much...just like me. Is there an online obit where you can leave condolences? She had a sister.....

She was one of my first FaceBook friends, there is a memorial page on FaceBook. All of the Rescue Kitties had already crossed the Bridge. I sent a donation to the Wayne Township Animal Shelter, they are located at 201 Pompton Place Crossroads, Wayne, New Jersey. I earmarked it to go toward adoption fees of adult black cats.

Re: Jeane Simpson
Good idea.........she'd have really liked that. Imagine the reception she got just before crossing that bridge herself...all those sweet kitties to escort her into heaven.
I couldn't help but think of this:
The Rainbow Bridge
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals that had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
Did Jeane have a will? I know she didn't have much in the way of stuff but I hope her things will go to good causes. She'd have wanted that.
I tried to find the memorial page on Facebook....with no luck. Do you have a link to it?

Re: Jeane Simpson
I will post it later. The page is called In Loving Memory of Jeane Simpson, it's a closed group. thank you for sharing the Rainbow Bridge essay.
As for her stuff, I would say no. From what little I know she was cremated with no memorial service. After that I don't know anything else.

Re: Jeane Simpson
Today's Mutts strip has Mooch looking an awful lot like Rescue Kitty. I feel pretty sure that Patrick knew about Rescue Kitty and got a little inspiration from him.
