I wasn't sure what existing thread to drop this into, so I made a new one. This guy is just great:

Go to the heading "Films" to watch the short cartoon films he has created. Then watch the interview.

I had seen the "Cat Man Do" film on Youtube, but I did not know that there were others. These are guaranteed to make you laugh! He absolutely nails cat behavior.

I'm a HUGE fan of Simon's Cat! All the past ones are excellent, and the new one with the box doesn't disappoint! Thanks, Susan, for spreading the word. Simon knows cats. Twisted Evil

I've only seen the first film, before they blocked them at the library. I can see the site but not the films. (wish I had them all on a disc so I could watch on a different computer like mom's--no internet access on that one though) I do have the first book, I see the next one is due out before the end of the year. Anyone else have the book?

at first i thought maybe he drew his films like Bill Plympton but this guy uses a computer and one of those drawing pads. And he's in England. .....it would be cool if he showed up at ArtFest or Comicon but don't think he'd come across the water for those!(though there are a lot of Finnish artists at ArtFest every year).

He probably could put his little films on a disc and sell them like Bill does:)

I wish he would! Probably cost too much to mail them across the pond to us tough..............

Is there a way to save them individually to a flash drive? Then my mom or sister can upload that onto the hard drive, and maybe burn it to a cd then????

well, a dvd in a plastic sleeve and light cardboard envelope wouldn't weigh that much.

No, but international shipping rates aren't all that cheap. Heck, domestic rates aren't that cheap anymore either. But I would love to have those lil films all on one disc. I wonder if there's a place to write to him and ask about that.........

I finally got a reply from the Simon's Cat website. Very nice people. This is what they had to say:

Hello Lori,

Thank you for your email and kind comments.

I'm very happy to hear that you enjoy watching the Simon's Cat films, and are eagerly awaiting for the release of the second book; which will be out very soon!

A Simon's Cat DVD is probably the most common request we receive. So we are exploring how to make this a reality. We haven't made one yet as all the Simon's Cat films together total less than 10 minutes. Once there are a few more films the DVD will become much more likely.

Thank you for your support, it is very much appreciated.

Kind regards,

--
