Re: what cha readin??
I read Bored of the Rings years ago when the trilogy first became very popular (in the 60s.
I'm reading two books now, a paperback I carry with me to and from work, and a hardcover I red at home. I'm reading Tamora Pierces PROTECTOR OF THE SMALL it's actually an anthology of 4 books in a series. Also am just starting SILENCE OF THE LAMBS.

I just saw that there are not one but two parodies of the Hobbit.......one is available now and another being released on the market in Nov.
I'm already a 1/3 of the way through Bored....and I've laughed out loud at parts of it. Bij sure stared at me!

Re: what cha readin??
Well, think of it this way: the library made some money so they can buy new books you can read later on. Or movies you can rent to watch.
Nearly finished with Bored......too tired to read last night and had a headache the night before.

I did finish Hearts of Atlantis few weeks ago. I read half of Other Boylen Girl by Philppa Gregory and never finished it. I got tired reading about the competition that was going on between two sisters as to who was going to get the king of England.

Starting Children of Hurin and have The Wobbit on order at the library, if they can find a copy somewhere in the country to borrow. Nobody in our system has it.

Re: what cha readin??
I am reading A Question of Magic by E.D. Baker. It is the newest book from one of my favorite writers. I own all her books. Here is a summary:
Serafina was living the normal life of a village girl, when she gets a mysterious letter--her first letter ever, in fact--from a great aunt she's never heard of in another village. Little does 'Fina know, her great aunt is actually a Baba Yaga, a magical witch who lives in an even more magical cottage.
Summoned to the cottage, Serafina's life takes an amazing turn as she finds herself becoming the new Baba Yaga. But leaving behind home and the boy she loves isn't easy, and as Serafina grows into her new and magical role answering the first question any stranger might ask her with the truth, she also learns about the person she's meant to be, and that telling the future doesn't always mean knowing the right answers.

this Forest mage book by Robin Hobb that I'm reading on the commute has to be one of the most boring things I've ever read. And it's part of a trilogy!

No Wobbit.....nobody in the country it seems has it for borrowing.
Waiting for Doctor Sleep to show up, Stephen Kings' followup to The Shining. In the meanwhile, plowing through a stack of magazines that have been piling up lately.

Re: what cha readin??
finally finished Forest mage. I'm not going looking for the other 2 books in this trilogy. LOL Picked up a lot of books at comiccon but have a bunch to read yet from my other piles. I just started on The Scent of Shadows by Vicki Pettersson, a supernatural fantasy I got it a couple of years ago at one of the conventions and it is signed.
I did read two of the books I got this year, both graphic novels. Husbands, which was signed by the author, I actually paid for. It's an offshoot of the hilarious web TV series and The Hedge Knight by George RR martin, It is a story he wrote about Westeros that takes place about 100 years before Game of Thrones. I've read the actual 2 sequels to this but have been unable to find the book this story was in

I'm still reading Bleak House. About Hedge Knight, it can be found in Dreamsongs Volume 2. He has another story in Warriors that was edited by him and George Dozios.

Re: what cha readin??
Thanks for the tip, Fluff, about Hedge Knight. My library had it listed as in Legends Vol. 1 but is unavailable. I have read the story in Warriors (Mystery Knight) and also Sworn Sword in legends II.
There will be a new story (but not in the Dunk and Egg series in Dangerous Women coming out in December I think. It's also set in Westerous pre GOT

Re: what cha readin??
thanks again for the tip on Dreamsongs, Fluff. I ordred it through my library and hopefully it will show up this week. I also put a hold on Dangerous Women, which is finally listed. I'm number 2 or 2 so hopefully they will get more than one copy in the system and I will be able to get it as soon as it is available.

Re: what cha readin??
I finished The Scent of Shadows by Vicki Pettersson. It was pretty good and a fast read, even though it was almost 500 pages. Don't they make novels under 300 pages anymore? I'm reading a historical novel, Royal Consort now, just to get away from the supernatural. Next I'll read the second in pettersson's series, which is also signed. I was rooting through some of my book piles and found I also have the 5th in the series.

Started Blood & Beatuy last night.....it's on the Borgias. Since they cancelled the tv show before they finished the story I wanted to see how it ended. A little over 500 pgs and I'm already 70 into it.
