Becky, she has personality to spare. She's one of those cats that wants to be, has to be in the center of everything.

I have bittersweet news. Trina is going to an adoption event Saturday. I have mixed feelings about this I love and will miss her dearly but I know I can't supply the needs for such an active and curious cat.

Your place will feel so very quiet without her there.....what will Antonio's reaction to her leaving be?
As much as I hope she finds a forever home, part of me wishes Trina could've just stayed with you forever.

That's the hardest part of fostering. You wish you could keep them.

She has blossomed so much with you. What a terrific success story. I will miss her stories if she finds her forever home, but I will be happy that she has such a success story to share with her new friends.

I will let Trina tell about the adoption event tomorrow. She did well in the fact she did not become hysterical. It was a long hard day for both of us.

Re: Refugees in my bathroom
Hi, everyone Trina here. I had the most horrendous experience yesterday. I went to an adoption even. I had to be put into the traveling kitty jail and then in those noisy traveling contraption. When the noisy contraption stopped we went into this noisy, stinky building. It was awful, loud, rude barky people. No privacy. I was put on display in this cage. I was so petrified that I froze, I scrunched my eyes shut I was that scared. La Tia stayed with me and I knew she was near by. She even put a toy and sweatshirt from home in the cage with me. Still I was petrified. La Tia and the adoption cordanitor said I was a wonderful, brave girl. I let strange people touch me, it was terrifying beyond words. La Tia says I will have to go again. Don Antonio comforted me and so did La Tia. I don't like this at all Trina
Despite her fearful demeanor she remained calm through it all. La Tia

Oh no! Poor Trina. Stay calm, little one. You will find the people who make it all better. Hopefully, the next event will be quieter.

I hope too, Becky. This is in the middle of a Petsmart on a Saturday. If the pitch and volume was almost unbearable for me I can't imagine whet it would be like for her.

Re: Refugees in my bathroom
Wow! Our PetSmart has really nice adoption events. Usually, if the weather is nice, they set up in front under the little roof that sticks out over the door. If it's not nice, they have the dog training area walled off so it's kind of quiet for the adoptable pets. It sounds like it was a crazy time at your store.

They do the dog adoptions outside. The cat adoptions are inside in a wide aisle. I wish would could use the dog training area but on Saturday that area is busy too.

Re: Refugees in my bathroom
Does your store have the cat adoption area built in? Ours has a quiet room with a big window that kitties are in all the time. They sometimes set kitties up near that room since it's very quiet in that area -- near the vet office.

Yes, but that's been given over to the SPCA of Texas.

Did it take Trina long to calm down once you left the event for home? I commend her for behaving well despite her terror.

I hope she finds a loving, quiet family. I think Trina would thrive in a quiet home similar to yours Sue.

Actually Fif, she thrives on activity not mass craziness and noise. Today she was trying to get at the birds and squirrels on the back porch.

It sounds like she would love a companion kitty too. She and Tonio seem to get along well.

She would do very well with a cat of her age and energy level.

Mouski is like that. I love cats who are social.

Re: Refugees in my bathroom
So do I....Bijoux is very social with people. Laid back dogs are okay but hyper ones are not. Other kitties: we get mixed reactions so not sure about that. That's why we're waiting to adopt a furbabe of my own.
