Refugees in my bathroom
As y'all know I'm back to doing foster care. At first it was Francis, who thanks to Cat Matchers has been adopted. Then there was Julia also adopted. Now there is Trina
Trina is about seven months old is out of a hoarder situation. This not the crazy person with the filthy house and sick and dying cats. What these people where doing was pulling from shelters the cats on the PTS list. They couldn't get them adopted out fast enough. So Cat Matchers has stepped in to help. While scared she is well groomed and clean. She is here to hang with me so can learn what a real home is like.

Awww. It's sad to see good intentions gone awry. Glad Trina found Cat Matchers and you.

She is still terrified and in hiding. I've opened up the bathroom so can get into the flat itself. She is hiding in the bed springs. She is coming out to eat, drink, and use litter pan. She came out and stared at me while I was watching Person of Interest. From what I could see out of the corner of my eye hers were as big as saucers. So it's going to take some time with her.

Yes, but you've made the first step. She didn't scoot when she saw you.

I know it's going to be a long siege. Still she came out to eat. I know this because most of the kibble disappeared from the dish in the bathroom. I refilled it. I think she snacks out of Antonio's bowl when we've all gone to bed.

Yes, this morning she was eating out of his food dish in the loving room. He was on the chair and didn't mind at all. She scooted back under the bed when I walked in.

The loving room. What an awesome typo.
It sounds like she's just very shy with people. I'm sure she will trust you more and more as she gets used to you being the food person. That's how GK was. Very shy and hide-y, and then standoffish, and finally, he let me touch him with my pinky while he was eating.

Good grief I just caught that. You know it is, it's where we all hang. Read, watch t.v., nap, snuggle and cuddle. Along with eat.

Great new name for that room! It's were I get cuddles from Bij......the loving room.
Trina will come around....slowly. But as soon as she figures it out she might progress a lot more rapidly. Food bribery works wonders!
Do you know if she had any human contact at all as a kitten? Sounds like she didn't get any as an adult.

I really don't know. She's about seven months old and looks like she has some Abyssian(sp) in her along with something else exotic. Very long and lanky. Her coat color is the wonderful tawny cream color, with golden eyes.

She is and she was talking to me earlier, And OMG at one point she and Antonio were in the chair. Right now she is dozing next to the heater. Since I have to move she will head under the bed. I can't get over her eye color.

Is she overcoming her shyness with you at all yet? Glad to hear Antonio is being such a gentleman with her, sharing his food and napping spots. Bet is was really cute to see them both together in the chair.

The time frame isn't engraved in stone. I may have a short timer coming in today. He's only here to heal from some injuries and on to another foster and adoption.
