Have fun on your ride if you get the chance. Mild and partly sunny here.

STILL raining. Doesn't look promising. But, we'll have fun no matter what.

Rain rain rain. No ride yesterday because it wouldn't stop. This morning is lighter rain, but still coming down. The horses don't mind in the pasture, but I bet my saddle would hate getting so wet. It looks like Tuesday will be dry, and maybe we'll get some spring weather after that. This has been the craziest weather year. At least the horses shed with the light and don't pay much attention to temperature.

Re: home again home again
The rain finally stopped. We had a few brief showers this afternoon, but the 3-day downpour stopped. We are flooded in back, and the horses have to wade through a knee-deep ditch to get to the pasture. Fortunately, they don't seem to mind since the grass is growing like crazy from all the water. There will be no riding for a while. The ground is soup.

While we haven't had three days of steady rain the humidity is up and we've had thunderstorms about everyday.

Today was beautiful, and the water is going away steadily -- thank goodness. If it stays like this, I might get a ride in for the holiday weekend.

Beautiful day for a ride. The breeze was blowing and it wasn't hot like everyone thought it would be. The sun is appropriately warm for almost summer, but the temperature was very pleasant. I hope the forecast for rain tomorrow is wrong. We're drying out nicely. Finally!

We're only supposed to get rain from it. We don't need it, but that beats a storm. SO not enthused for tropical weather.

Re: home again home again
Finally got a ride in. The pasture WAS dry enough for trotting, so we got in a pretty good workout while the fly spray lasted. Envoy stumbled a couple times over weird pasture footing, but his recoveries are much steadier now that his stifles don't hurt. He just kept trotting without getting all upset.
Now, it's freakin' raining again. Guess riding will be road walks tomorrow if this mess stops by then.

I've heard about the tons of rain you've been getting Sue....and I'm hoping and praying you and the kitties everywhere aren't getting flooded out.

We're fine but Central Texas and the Houston area has had a bed time of it.

Re: home again home again
Today was farrier day. Kina has had a special shoe on the side with her bad knee. It's worked miracles. She was able to bend her knee much better because the pressure is off of it in between shootings. I am so glad she feels better. The farrier is glad because she can lift her leg better.

It's hot here now. The horses are outside at night, and come in for the afternoon/evening. Yesterday, I gave everyone a nice shower with cool water from the hose and put them under their fans. Envoy ROLLED in his stall. Silly horse.

Saturday, we begin lessons again. Envoy's meds are helping him so much. We will start slow and see what happens. It's supposed to be beautiful weather, so I'm kind of sad that I signed up for early morning. I have almost a 2 hour drive to get there. COFFEEEEEEE!

Re: home again home again
Nope... No stall space because there's a horse in training staying there. It was ok though. We made it down the road with the silo of coffee for me in the truck and some alfalfa hay in the trailer for Envoy.
He did really well. We're starting back slowly working mostly on suppling and getting fit. Walk and trot. No canter yet since he really needs to build strength. He got better and better as we worked, which was a great feeling.
The weather was so nice that we hung out after our early lesson and watched other people. Envoy got to eat grass in the round pen. He was happy to eat grass, and my friend was happy for his mowing help.

Sounds like it all went well. You can accomplish more at a walk and trot than anything else.

Rest day for Envoy, so it was tack cleaning day for me. A neighbor stopped by and told me that she never takes her bridles apart. I can't imagine... Ick!
