Since he is a senior he goes twice a year. He's fine they gave me some anti anexity med to give him before the appointment. he was totally trashed by the time of the appointment. He has also developed some type of skin problem. He was given a steriod and some antibiotics. Meowmy

Is it flakey skin? Bingo had something like that last year. He had to take 30 days of antibiotic and 10 days of prednisone. It did clear right up though. The vets thought it was related to allergies with him.

Yes, with some oozing spots. We don't think it's enviromental but food which is going to be impossible to pinpoint.

Ugh. Bingo's allergy vet did a blood test, and they found his food allergies. The only treatment is to avoid those foods, but they could find what it was. The test was expensive, but if he keeps getting them, it's worth considering a visit to the specialist. I can't rave enough about how knowing the problem things. It has helped my regular vet with treatment strategies. Smile Good luck, and feel better, Tonio!

I tried to use Bingo's for his allergy testing and first round of shots. I was unimpressed with the insurance company, but they did pay out. I dropped them afterwards though. They tried very hard not to pay. Sad

I think if I ever get pet insurance again, I will make sure to call before any non-emergency things to see what they need, the format they need it in, and if they can open a claim for me. Opening it myself seems to have been the problem since their system didn't offer a way for me to include all the necessary paperwork that, of course, came in at different times. It assumed that I had everything in front of me when I started the claim. Instructions didn't tell me I needed everything, and the help tech said there's a hidden way to edit a claim. Harumph. When it was denied the first time, they said I could open a new claim! What??? GRR.

I sometimes think they make it that way on purpose so they can deny claims......

I just gave up on it. Now, I keep a credit account for big things. It comes with up to a year of no interest, so it costs much less than PIA insurance. I paid for GK's surgery that way. No fuss, no muss. It is only accepted at people and animal doctors (that I know of), so it isn't like I can go crazy with credit. Smile It's saved me a few times with big vet bills. But, if you have good insurance, it's worth holding on to.

She was worried that things were "backing up" and you'd need to see the v-e-t again. Peoples can be funny that way.

What's up with that? Maybe you feel like pooping in mid-afternoon instead overnight to be found in the morning for a change.
