Re: I BOUGHT A HOUSE!
Stove vent is up and running...hope to get the bathroom shower wall up so we can get some progress on installing the walls. Then maybe the countertop in the kitchen (we have to do that outside and it's still raining!).
I only have one week to get it all done.
Apartment is nearly totally empty....needs deep cleaning and holes patched/painted. Sleeping on an air mattress on the floor....so hard to get up in the morning now.

Do you need to do the counters outside because of sawing or staining? The rain this month has been amazing, hasn't it? I hope it stops so you can get a jump on that stuff. It will be so good to have it all done, right?

Re: I BOUGHT A HOUSE!
I ended up trimming the countertop to length inside (making a huge mess in the process). Had to go a tad ballistic about being tired of waiting to get my S.O. to get a friend to help lift it into place. Now I have to cut the sink hole and poly it, already stained. Shower is coming along very slowly so shower hopping to stay clean. Microwave in the bedroom for now and disposable everything so no dishes to wash (since there is no sink to wash them in).
Feels almost like camping out only indoors.

Shower door is the only thing left to put in, plus some shelving in the craft room. Built a 4' W x7' H x 18" D unit for my yarn (well, most of it anyway). Kitchen is now a kitchen, complete with table & chairs, trivet collection on the wall, clock, usual stuff on the countertop. Slow but sure it is getting there, as long as I keep getting help from Brian and take it easy on my aching joints.

Re: I BOUGHT A HOUSE!
Have now made a daybed for the livingroom, just have to put on the trim. Built a small cabinet next to the washer/dryer to hide the pipes and give me a place for the soap and folding clothes. Put extra-strong magnets onto two metal scroll wall plant hooks and stuck that to the side of the dryer for empty hangers (between the machine and the wall so no wasted space). Have a bigger one to put on the basement door (it folds) so I have a place to hang clothes after they're on the hangers coming out of the dryer.
Still no doors inside yet, can't find any that fit.
Still have not found my cookbook.
Still am unpacking craft supplies, books, etc.
Just found my hair scrunchies yesterday.

Which cookbook disappeared? (They're famous for that. I'm an Army brat, and my mom lost at least 1 cookbook in every move!)
And... Now that you're moving in... What do you need? Sounds like you have the organization nailed down. Any Ikea things that might help?

Re: I BOUGHT A HOUSE!
The one I made from all the recipes I found online, altered, or came up on my own for the pre-diabetic diet. I want my bbq sauce recipe I came up with on my own, the KFC spice mix, and the one minute muffins.
I found my logbook yesterday but not my meter.

I have a little notecard binder with lots of old family recipes. I dread losing that. I hope it turns up!

Re: I BOUGHT A HOUSE!
I finally found my cookbook....while unpacking books to put on my new bookcase. I need to buy a new furnace now, with AC.......$6000 in debt! And I have a partially torn tendon in my left elbow now so can't install the insulation I bought for the basement so my floors won't be so cold this winter. Still no antenna for the phone or tv either. And no help to do any of this...it's just me, myself, and I now.
