They are all so adorable, and Dustie really caught my eye. Guess I just love the expression in her eyes.....she reminds me of my past Miss Kitty.

Were they pretty healthy when your organization found them?

These guys have all been pretty healthy. Dustie had a little URI, and Errol had an infected eye, but they healed up nicely. Two of the rescue kittens, Sheldon and Mimi, became very ill and passed away. Sheldon had a liver defect, and Mimi probably had either distemper (in spite of being vaccinated) or FIP (the vet could not be sure.)

What's FIP? I'm not sure that I have ever heard of it before.

FIP stands for Feline Infectious Peritinitis. There's a vaccine for it, but not a very good one. Too many mutations in the virus that causes it. It causes "failing kitten syndrome."

i wonder if that's the problem often when mother cats will leave a kitten alone to just die...cuz they know there's something wrong and know nothing can be done about it?

A lot of mama kitties seem to know when a kitten is not going to make it. Sothey expend their time and energy on the ones they know will make it to older kittenhood instead.

Errol and Arlo went in to be neutered today. Turns out that Arlo didn't need to be neutered. SHE needed to be spayed. Oopsie. Changed her name to Arlene and redid her Petfinder page a little.

Arlene was pretty puny last night, but she was up and full of beans this morning. Errol was pretty much over the whole thing by TV time last night. I'm not familiar with Daisy.

Well, spaying is a bit more invasive and you're under anesthesia a bit longer, so not a big surprise she wasn't her usual self until this morning. That's typical.
I like the name Arlene. Reminds me of the one in Garfield...........full of beans.

here's the link to Daisy's blog......scroll down a bit and you'll find Harley's entry from 9/2. if that doesn't make you laugh you need to get more balls! (you'll know what that means when you see it:) and its NOT dirty!)

Thanks so much for the link. It was soooo funny.
Most of Bijoux's are under the stove...............he has a whole drawer full of them though so a couple missing is no big deal to him.

Errol, Dustie, and ArlENE will be going to the fair tomorrow to see if they can get forever homes. Myra will come too. She had a good application at the fair 2 weeks ago, but the guy never showed. Guess that one wasn't meant to be.

Well, all my fosters came back home with me. We only had one dog adopted, but we transferred 5 shelter dogs to other rescues, and saved their lives.
