I can't get into the website at work because of the blockers but I called and was told the flea market will be the last Sunday in September

I would love to be able to go to that.

it's amazzing, Sue. I've been going for years, and I got both Jeane and Mags on to it. Last year was a zoo though, it was rainy so they held it indoors. It was way too crowded and dark. I got so claustrophobic I had to leave.. Even when it's outside it gets very crowded now. that it's been discovered.

Will any Broadway stars be there??

oh yeah...there are people who you can get your pic taken with and a long table where you can get people to sign things (well, i think one thing per person?)there's a fee for that but 100% of the profits go to AIDs. you also can find some celebs at the tables from their theater.
last year i had lunch and dinner at the Addams Family booth. it was sooooo good! and i was served by Lurch and got to talk with Uncle Fester for a bit;)

this year B'way Cares is Sept 25. If there's anyone else in the NY area who wants to go we usually meet at the Times Square McDs;)

The year Martin Shaw was starring in An Ideal Husband, I was able to get authographed playbills and cast wphotoes signed by Martin adn the cast for all my fellow MS fans who couldn't makt it in to the city. When Les Miz was playing I was always able to get some stuff from their booth for my sister and a friend in Colorado who were big fans.

somewhere i have some post cards and a book signed by Donny Osmond....got the cards for my cousins in Scotland...i might have sent those to them already and forgot! i thought they book might be interesting. Wicked has the best booth (until last year...nothing interesting last year for some reason).
Tyne Daly was there a few years ago selling her jewelry...that was fun:) It was good jewelry so it was out of my range, but it was interesting!

I'm crossing my fingers that I get to go this year!!!! Just a quick day trip...

Used cd stores. I've been taking books to Half Price, but you don't get much for them.

if you have sets of books you might be able to get a better deal on ebay....i haven't looked in there for box lots of books in a while though. i guess halfprice probably only gives ya 10th the price when you take them in.,eh?

Pretty much, but it is freeing up space!

I hope the rain holds off. I don't want to repeat the time they held it indoors. just too claustrophobic for me. I get antsy when it's outdoors. That indoor one was just way too much for me

the indoor flea market was a lot like NYCC but without the rude people with the kids and the strollers! (i'm really fearing NYCC this year...esp Sat. last year on Sat i thought i was gonna have a heartattack being pushed through the crowds!)

the indoor BC was way more crowded than NYCC, and the lighting was so dim you could hardly see anything. I really got scared in there. Granted they crowds at NYCC are intense, but not so bad that you couldn't move down the aisles

i don't think you were at NYCC last year when i was in there...there were times when i was literally (and i mean literally) pushed through the crowds without moving my own feet! it was insane for a big chunk of the day on the main floor. if it gets like that this year i think i'm going to go sit in the ANIME area. i was seriously fearing for my life cuz if their had been a fire or someone had yelled something that crowd could have crushed a rhino!

I will be at the BC flea market, just for the day...they have the list posted for the autograph table, and there's no one I'm terribly keen on---Joel Grey and Roger Rees. Maybe Adam Pascal.

i haven't gone in there to look....seems the only people i've wanted to have my pic done with they always jack the price up too high. think i'm going to be a bit careful about my money this year cuz there are some things i really want to try to find at NYCC this year.
(though i will admit that there's some sort of con/media event over in England where you can get your pic done (by a professional and its a real pic not a polaroid)and there are folks there i'd love to meet...BUT the pics there are 35pounds. don't know the exchange rate but i'm figuring its gotta be about $70+!)
i don't remember the pic/signing stuff being as crowded last year as it had been. Mags, that one VERY large guy was there pushing through as usual. whenever i see him i think of him as the b'way version of the Simpson's comic book guy;)
