Re: Look what the neighbors dragged in
We're playing with string toys and a big, soft ball that he can somersault over. His problem is that he gets so excited that he starts bouncing around and just goes up the furniture. He does calm down, but we have to do focused play in short spurts. He is just at the "endless energy" stage. He's either running or sleeping.
It will pass pretty quickly. He's already gained 1/2 a pound and grown at least 1/2 an inch longer. His legs are getting longer too. When he goes in December for his shots, he'll probably be ready for his surgery, so that will also help to calm him down.

The only thing that's going to calm him down is growing up. Still I sympathize with
you. I remember Ascot and Bearcat.

Junko was in the constant running and constant climbing stage before her surgery. I will find out soon if she will keep it up or not.

He's been very lovey today. Not as hyper. I'm not sure why, but I like it.

We've had a little leftover summer visiting. Tomorrow is supposed to cool down, so maybe we'll get lovey kitties looking to get warm.

The kitten is crazy! He is chasing a large, soft ball all over the place. He kicks it with his back feet, then he somersaults over it. He has Gateway playing with him too. That's good because Gateway could use to drop a pound or two.

Sounds like they are having fun. You may not be getting any sleep but they're having
fun and that's more important than sleep.

And they're getting along too. If they make too much noise maybe a pair or earplugs isn't a bad idea. They can't keep this up forever, can they? I mean, kitties do wear themselves out playing and sleep sometimes.
That ball sounds like a lot of fun. Wish I could see a video of Kilmouski doing that somersault over the ball trick.

We're lucky that the wildness happens pretty early at night. The kitties have been piling on the bed with us and snoozing all night. Right now, Kilmouski is crashed on my lap. I hope that doesn't mean he's going to start the midnight madness.

Re: Look what the neighbors dragged in
Midnight Cat Races usually means everybody is getting along pretty well. If Kilmouski naps too late in the evening you could always do what my mom does: wake him up and take him for a ride. But in your case I'd throw out some toys for him to chase....to tire him out right at bedtime so he'll sleep (and let you sleep too).
Bet he's growing like a weed.

He is twice the size he was when he got here. He is very strong and is learning to jump really well. We are sp lucky. He sleeps when we do (and a lot during the day too). No midnight cat races after bedtime, thank goodness!

Here he is living up to his name. This little stuffed mouse is his favorite upstairs toy. He seems to love all of his downstairs toys equally.

Re: Look what the neighbors dragged in
A friend who is very into kitties told me she thinks Kilmouski is a red-point Siamese cat. The more I look at them online, the more I think she's right. This kitty looks a lot like our Mouski. http://dailykitten.com/2008/02/oliver-3/

I agree, I guess he's a blue blooded ginger. I've always thought Siamesse were great
cats, though I wouldn't want to be judge socially by one.

He sure looks like that lil guy.....guess mom or dad was a red-point. I could swear Kilmouski has faint rings on his tail, does he?

Re: Look what the neighbors dragged in
He does. Red-point Siamese cats may have stripes on their tails. It's not a recognized breed in the US, but elsewhere it is. http://www.life-with-siamese-cats.com/red-point-siamese-cat.html
Right now, he's playing with a string we have tied to the cat tree.
