I hope so too. The store behind him he was found by a person who thought his leg was broken. So they splinted it with dick tape and drill bits. Hence the name Drillbits. He will stay long enough to let a sore paw heal, along with some scrapes. Then he will move to a more active house.
Trina is starting to play more. She played with the remains of a feather toy today with me holding the toy and a ball. She also sat on the arm of the couch for a longer period of time. She even sat on the couch while I ate a grilled cheese sandwich. Antonio took a nibble or two. She didn't flee when I offered her some.

Re: Refugees in my bathroom
I've seen worse wounds and he has a soft e collar. I've made him a bed in a box on the lower shelf in the bathroom. I didn't want him sleeping on the rugs. They just don't provide enough padding and the tile is cold. I've given hims some treats and a toy. He's using his litter box. He's a talker and purrs at the drop of a hat. He's here to heal and then move on to a home with more activity.

Awww! He sounds absolutely adorable. Did he actually break his leg? Kittens heal pretty quickly from breaks, but it's still concerning.
Have you heard from Francis?

No, but it's a nasty puncture wound and he is pretty lame on it. Another not he has dire rear. I'm trying to get some pumpkin in him. You can also hear him purr from about a foot away.
Trina jumped up on the couch and laid with Antonio and I for about five minutes. I found out that she loves the pumpkin supplement that I give Antonio. I gave her some and she scarfed it down. She also sniffed my fingers when I offer it to him

My kitties enjoy pumpkin too. I make them a little "soup" with pumpkin and chicken broth. Mouski thinks it's "da bomb!"
I hope Drillbit's leg gets better quickly. He sounds like a little trooper.

He is. He is so loving that I had having in the bathroom but between the leg and other problems that's how it has to be. I'm going to pick him up some goat's milk yogurt tomorrow if the dire rear is still going on. His tummy seems to be settling down still it's hard on the system.
More Trina update later.

Drillbits sounds like a wonderful boy! I'm sure the dire rear will settle down. Punctures seem to heal pretty fast. You won't have him long so enjoy the purrs and loving while you can from him.
Trina is making huge strides now....I think she's finally figuring things out and realizes what the good life is all about. Maybe Antonio is clueing her in some?

I remember Mouski having dire rear when he came here. Getting different food is hard on kitty bellies. Goat milk yogurt id definitely a good idea.

I know and I didn't make it to the store today. I'm still giving him the pumpkin though. Hopefully I will make it tomorrow.

Re: Refugees in my bathroom
Becky, I posted two photos of Trina and Antonio to FB. I will send them to you via FB.
Drillbit managed to get his collar off today so I just left it off. The bathroom door is open and he is free to roam about the house. Right now he is hanging in the bathroom and sleeping in his box. Trina is having the cat races with a toy she's found. Antonio has cruised off to hop on the Giant Cat Bed.

Trina is a real beauty! And if Drillbit managed to get his collar off he must be a smart cat. Which toy did Trina find so fun?
Will be interesting to see what three cats will do in your place in the next few days.

She found a crinkly type ball that had been in the bathroom. She has another soft ball that she likes. Along with the remains of a feather wand. Drillbit is still in the bathroom even though the door is open. He'll come out in his own time. He's another wild man and your feet are not safe with him.

None of my kitties will keep collars on. They're nudists at heart.

Why aren't feet safe? Does he 'hunt' them? Bij used to do that on occasion.

Drillbits loves to pounce on them, along with attack your ankles. Shoes, well I missing a shoe and it's the mate to the only pair of good flats I have.
Trina made a huge step last night. She was curled behind my head on the couch with Antonio and started purring. I was to shocked to move.
