Comic Con 2011

It's now going to be 4 days, with the professional hours (and VIPS and 4 day pass holders) Thursday from 4pm until 7pm. Tickets go on sale February 7th, with the 4 day passes limited to 10,000.

I got that email too, also. I wonder if that 10,000 includes the professionals, retailers etc. If so I can't wait till the last minute this time.

i got the email....i'm really debating it...$20 more for those three hours..i don't know if it will be worth it. I also don't think i'll be home before the tickets are all gone. I'm wondering now if those 10,000 including the 'special' people.
but since Fri is open to everyone and starts in the morning it might be easier to get around on Fri early.

do you think that 10,000 tickets will sell out in one day?

after the mess from last year you never know. i'm having an eeny meeny minee mo time right now...should i splurge or not? it will have to depend if those tickets are still around when i get home and online that night.

welp,it looks like there's still tickets....so i'm going to take the plunge and go for it. its $20 more for 4 hrs without the massive crowd. since the only other things i do all year that cost more than a day's pay is artfest and b'way cares i guess i can splurge. i just hope i don't forget i ordered them or something happens like last year (when i wasn't sure if i was going to have a place to live in Oct!).

I ordered my professional ticket on the first day.

welp i'm not so lucky....this year its about double what it was a few years ago...when i was cleaning today i found my form from i believe two years ago (when it was in April) and it was barely $50. i'm just hoping this year it won't be so paralyzingly crowded!
this is weird...when i clicked on this to send it through i got a screen telling me that i couldn't cross post (I wouldn't know how to cross post if i tried! don't know what happened!)

bumping this up to say that Mark Hamill (for you SW people) and Ian McNiece (i hope i have his first name right....he was Harry Potter's uncle and he's Churchill in Who and the plumber/restaurant owner in Doc Martin!) will be at NYCC this year. I didn't see many others i even recognized when i checked the site tonight. Well...John Landis....and though i think he's cool i don't think i'd want to try to get into his panel.

Hope Mark Hamill is not a pay for autograph guest. I have his autograph from several Bway shows he did so don't need to pay for one. LOL
Several gusts caught my eye from some shows that I liked , Jason Momia was in Stargate Atlantic, kevin Sorbo from hercules, herbert jefferson from the old BSG and Nici cline from the new one. Jewel Strait from Firefly

yeah there's a lot of people that i never watched the shows....nobody there i'd run up three flights of stairs and zig zag through the madding crowds for (like mags and i did for Eve!). Wouldn't mind meeting Ian McNeice cuz i've seen him in so much stuff. but wouldn't pay for his autograph..there's no many people i'd PAY for anyway!

Harry {ptter's uncle was played by Richard Griffiths...They are going to announce more stars, so this could be interesting! More Torchwood!!!!!

then who did McNiece play in Harry Potter?

Will be interesting to see what other stars they come up with.

oh gawd...i had always thought they were the same guy! (oh....did they both do the History Boys play? maybe that's where i saw them)....i'm notorious for confusing people...for quite a while i thought Penn Jillette and Garrison Keillor were the same person! (I've yet to see them together in one room either:))

oh gawd...i dont' think i paid enough attention to that to remember him from there....i really think i was just confusing him with the guy who was harry's uncle cuz they are similar in shape etc. the weirdest things get connected in the back of my head!

Eddie McClintock from Warehouse 13 is going to be there---I like that show! I'll be going over the panel list/guest list more closely on Thursday/Friday, to plan.

one of my Doctor Who comic artist is planning to be there as just a regular person (as opposed to having a table this year) and is trying to get something together for a meet up on Fri. so that looks hopeful...its not a panel or anything just people getting together somewhere and get things signed if you need it. (need to get my comics out and start packing things to be ready:) )

I'll have to have a closer look at the panels/events on Friday when I will have some computer time

i looked at the literary folks either last night or this morning and i don't even see Sherrilyn kenyon and she's been there every year i think...at least every year after the first one! i think i need to go to her website and see if she says anything on there.

They've added a lot of entertainment guests---I'm just going to do the bulk of my planning this weekend, and check out any additions on Tuesday of next week! That is, of course, if the hostel isn't closed down...

since Sherrilyn is usually there as a vendor i don't know whether they might have her as a guest. i hope she is there.

she was always there under the authors before.....but i guess i could look for her booth.
Mags...would you like to meet Ian McNeice? I got an email about a very small gathering they're doing with him on Sun after the con. let me know asap if you're interested!

i think its 7:00pm. its something i wouldn't mind going to but wouldn't be able to go and get the bus home during a decent time. i'll send ya the email that was sent to me so you can check it out.
went and checked out the site last night and see that two of the BIG draws cancelled...Landis and Mike Mignolia (oo i probably murdered his name). i'm wondering what they will do to fill in those spots. (I suggested they bring anyone from the BBC over....even if it was a guy who was inside a Dalek;) )
