Our Earth has reached it's farthest tilt and has started its swing back towards the sun. From here on in the days just keep getting longer. We're freewheeling down to Spring, kids! Hold that thought!

I can't complain beacuse other than a few cold days (I think we only had one or two where it actually hit freezing during the night) it's been rather warm here in the NYC area. the first day of winter was almost 60 degrees!
It'f funny, we had our secret santa today at work, and my hint was a hat and scarf, since I lost my scarf last year. I was expecting it to be cold. I haven't even had to put on my winter coat yet! But the new scarf, hat and gloves are very nice, and I'm sure will be put to use before the end of winter

I'd take some of that warmth here Lovekitties......we're always hovering just above freezing for daytime highs these days. Colder at night, the kind that kinda seeps into your bones. I know we'll be having some snow at some point this winter....this is the latest we've gone without snow on the ground that I can remember.

So far no plans for New Years Eve here.....

well. it's 44 degrees now but instead of getting warmer this afternoon the temp is dropping, and its windy. expected to be mid 20s tonight and not get much above freezing tomorrow

They're predicting falling temps between now and New Years for us. We'll be at around 18 with wind for work Monday am.........Brrrrrrr........that will mean a 5-6 layer morning shift for me. I feel sorry for the kids at the bus stop, they aren't as bundled as I am.

At least I can spend New Years Eve and day in a very warm apartment with a very warm cat on my lap or shoulder.

The weather people are predicting a New Year's Day in the 60s for us. No complaints! We've been warmer than usual, but it's typical for a La Nina year. Wet and warm... Next summer is anybody's guess. I just hope for no draught. Right now, it's in the 40s and dreary. Sigh... Nap time, says Gateway.

Yeah, we have school on Monday, but everybody else is closed including the library. I got an invite to a party Saturday night, but the weather is supposed to be so nasty I don't think I'll go. It will be far too slippery and dangerous to even cross the yard to mom's, much less drive anywhere. We're supposed to really drop in temps by Sunday night...........I will be in at least 6 layers for work Monday morning to hopefully stay warm.

doesn't feel like new years...never felt like christmas o thanksgiving either...maybe it willl snow in the new xcouple weeks and it will feellike the holidays finally.

bc i thought about you when i was checking around the dial and saw all those marx bros movies on. also found a station called the antenna station that shows all this old school stuff (i think its call jack benny and burns and allen tomorrow) and thought about sven and the stations he's on. i think its called me tv, isn't it? i sure wish i could find if that station is here cuz i'd love to see him again!

as soon as i get through a few things on here i'm going to go get ready for my 'party' onion dip, chips,some chocolates and a bottle of Vernors (I am doling them out for special occasions...one tonight, one for valentine's maybe...one for my bd and that wil leave a few for later).Vernors is rarer than Don Perignon around here!
oh! AND olives....i haven't had a bottle of olives in at least 10 yrs....so i splurged a buck and a quarter and got a jar to celebrate:) (and NO i do NOt put them in my Vernors!)

Hello, fello fur friends! Somewhere, some of you are in 2013. Happy new year to you. My meowmy says we are going to get a treat when 2013 comes here. I'm not sure how we will know except that we will get treats. So, all my friends, let's have a party to celebrate whatever a year is and that this one is new.
