Re: Bingo found a home
Today was farrier day. He always brings his golden retriever, Moose. Since the sun was out and the wind was blowing, Bingo and Moose had a GREAT time playing. They ran all over the yard, stood up and played dog boxing, and ran some more. I don't know about Moose, but Bingo is tired.

With a name like Moose, I don't think so.

Sounds like they both had a lot of fun.....Moose might've been tired too despite his name.

Moose is so laid back that he would nap no matter what.

What a happy doggie day. I had a beef bone left over from when my dad cooked a rib roast. I made beef and barley soup from it, and Bingo got to chew on it today. We've had warmer days, but he enjoyed sitting in the sun and chewing.

Re: Bingo found a home
Bingo the protector dog! This morning, he was outside doing dog things in the barn and yard. Next thing I knew, he was trotting down the driveway. I looked out the front of the house, and he was hustling after what looked like a coyote. There was no barking or howling. Just a dog telling another to stay out of his area. I hot-footed it after Bingo to make sure he didn't take off into the woods, but he stopped at the corner of the neighbor's property. He was just waiting there looking down the road, and he came right home. Good dog!

What a good and brave dog he was. Extra treats are in order.

Tomorrow is vet day. Bingo needs his heart worm exam and regular checkup. I want them to look at his ears to make sure all is okay. He hasn't been too bad, but with the high pollen count, he is shaking his head more than he did over the winter. I just want to be sure all is good.

Does he get extra treats for all those indignities.

Re: Bingo found a home
He does.
The diagnosis is an ear infection and some skin issues just starting. The vet says it's the pollen. Even with the shots, it's to be expected when we have such a bad allergy year. So, he's on Prednisone for 15 days (decreasing dose as time goes), and some drops for his ears. I also have to wash him with medicated shampoo that's available at the tack shop. I'm sure he will be completely OVER getting baths soon. I pulled out my swim suit just for the task. I might freeze my buns, but at least I'll know how he feels.

The Prednisone works wonders. He felt instantly better. He still hates having his ears cleaned, and he isn't a big fan of back yard baths. But, he's improving and feeling a lot better.
