I am glad to hear the meds are working so well so quickly. Wish mine did. This year promises to be a real humdinger of an allergy season! (picturing your truck coated in yellow pollen)

Thank goodness pine pollen season is short. Now, it's grass pollen. That doesn't coat the cars, but it bothers Bingo's skin. His ears are clearing up, and now he gets baths every other day. He is displeased! He doesn't mind getting soaped up, but he hates getting hosed/showered off. Poor guy. He seems to forgive me when I towel him off afterwards though. He really likes the towel rubs. Bingo is finally getting more comfortable. Tree pollen is mostly done for now. Thank goodness, the yellow clouds of pine pollen are gone! The grass pollen is crazy, but some OTC allergy pills (Claratin lookalikes) seems to be keeping his paws from being too itchy. The shots have really helped. At least the OTC pills work now. We were having to dope him up pretty bad, and he was always getting weird things like skin infections. This year, is much MUCH better.

Glad to hear that. I'm back on the claritin too as well as the usual prescription stuff. Spring and fall are always bad for allergies.

It's bad for a lot of things. I found a tick on Bingo last night. He uses preventive, and the tick was dead, but it was there. It's the first one I've found on him in years. Nasty buggers.

This is the first year I've seen so many here. We have lots of things that usually eat them, so one or two a year is all I find. So far, I've found 4 on different firkids. We're ahead of normal, but not nearly as bad as just a little west in Williamsburg. That place is crazy with them.

Oh Lord, can you spray the yard with something that will get the ticks but not hurt the furkids or other wildlife?

Nope. Anything that will kill ticks will also kill bees. We have a pretty good population of honey bees, and I don't want to hurt them. I just need to keep up the spearmint oil fly spray on the horses and get Bingo a new Soresto collar. The kitties get drops, but since they're inside, I only do it every 45 days. No fleas so far.

Bingo says it's too hot. He spent the day under the fan. No chance for ticks because he only went out for quick potty breaks.

Today is bath day at the groomer. He's had yard baths the past couple times because it's been nice and warm. Today is still warm enough, but he needs his nails trimmed, and I think he'd enjoy being fancied up. Besides, his favorite groomer works at PetSmart so he can shop for his own treat.

Talk about a dog's life. I thought of when I saw this t-shirt that read. 'I work hard so my dog can have a better life.'

Don't want to hurt our friendly lil pollinators! Maybe it will be so hot for a couple days the ticks die off?

We can only hope. I haven't seen any more on him or the horses for a while, so maybe it was just a wave of them. His bath made sure he didn't have any fleas or ticks, so I think we're good for a while.

Last night, Bingo exploded. I don't know what he ate when he went out with me to feed the horses, but about 20 minutes later, he threw up. YUCK! Fortunately, once it was out, he was better. He's been fine all day today, so I guess he got into something awful while he was out. I hope he doesn't go back to it tonight.
