Re: more Gateway adventures
I brought home the carrier I bought for Scully. Gateway LOVES it. He's sound asleep inside it now. I bet the story will change if I ever NEED him to get in it.

I'll put it away eventually, but he's just loving it now. He doesn't even care that the blanket smelled like Maybe/Scully.

Silly boy is outside in the rain. I think he's hanging out in the barn since he does NOT like getting wet.

Re: more Gateway adventures
So he's communing with the ponies and barn kitties. Smart enough to know to get out of the rain and hang out with buddies until it lets up so he can get back to the house without getting wet.

Heehee! He IS the barn kitty. He's spending more and more time indoors now that it's getting chillier.

Today, a new sofa came to the house. Gateway was very put off that his old one went away. We had to keep the throw pillows (and his little rice stuffed cat pillow) to make him accept the new couch. Now, he's sitting on his dad and going for occasionally excursions on the seat of the couch.

Ahhhh....it doesn't smell like him yet so is suspect. Some kitties are very picky about their napping furniture, it has to smell like them.
Bij doesn't seem to care....if it's soft and we like it he claims it as his.

Re: more Gateway adventures
Gateway came to terms with the couch by bedtime. When we turned in, he was crashed against the back, and made no moves to come with us. I think he has accepted the intruding furniture. The poor old couch is now in the dump. It was really well made, but we had to take it apart since it wouldn't fit OUT of the house. We had to take a door off the hinges to get it in, and that door is now sealed. Sad to see a well made couch go in pieces.

Shame you couldn't have refinished and reupholster it....it's always sad to see a good piece of furniture go. I bet it's 'bones' were still good and sturdy.

They really were. Gateway is enjoying the pillows we kept though. He keeps mushing one to use as a bed.

I just got my reminder card for Gateway's cardiologist appointment. I should make that and his annual checkup soon. How do they know when I don't have a spare dime?

Unfortunately, no tab. I do it with credit card. Sigh... But, it must be done. Gateway seems to be doing really well, so I want to be sure he can keep it up.

Re: more Gateway adventures
Last night was pounce on the face night. Gateway was snuggled under the covers. My husband turned over and was flopping around, and Gateway came FLYING out from under the covers. He landed right on my face. Needless to say, I woke right up.

Re: more Gateway adventures
Gateway's appointment is on April 10. I got the quote. OUCH! $610. But, we have to do it so we can make sure he stays healthy.
He will go to the regular vet next week for his yearly checkup. He doesn't need anything there. Just teeth checked, temperature taken, etc. I'm sure they will say he could lose a pound, but he is actually slimming down as spring gets closer.

Re: more Gateway adventures
We love Dr. Jess thought. He really did save Gateway's life. He came in on his day off when Gateways's stomach acted up. I am willing to pay what it takes to keep the little guy's fuzzy self as healthy as possible. He's doing great. We want it to stay that way.
