Rescue Kitty and others.....
i've been thinking of starting up something for the rescue kitties and figured now is a good time since i finally got some new pics to put in here;)
SO...i'll start with a pic of the blanket i made and kept telling you guys i'd show it to you. it was started either day of or the day after i got the bad news about Buddy and ended either the day he died or the day after. (i've done something like this before....when my mom was in the hospital for the last timei started working on a lace table cloth...i worked on it all through that month and finished it right after her funeral. i still have it around somewhere).
here's the blanket
you'll see some of my black plush kitties and "Rescue Kitty" in his cape. I"m sure most of you know that Buddy was my inspiration for Rescue Kitty.

The blanket is beautiful. I envy people who can crochet. I've tried to learn through books, but I can't get the hang of it.

crocheting is pretty easy...i think its a lot easier than knitting....goes faster than knitting when you're making something big but knitting looks better when it comes to things like accessories and clothes.
when i get more time i'll put in the pics of the blankets i made when Salem was recovering and i'd go upstairs to sit with him for a couple hours every night. i made them thinking i could get a few bucks to help pay off his vet bill but nothing came from it.i probably still have them around here. i have a whole shopping bag of cat blankets...some are going to windup in boxes i'll be sending out in the next month or so.

The blanket is cool in so many ways. It's a tribute to Buddy, it kept you sane, and it's just great looking.
I used to know how to crochet, but I've forgotten over the years. I remember making blankets and ponchos.

Jeane the picture you posted on FaceBook didn't do
it justice. That is beautiful. You are so talented
with your hands.

Can someone email that pic as an attachment to an email? Then I should be able to see it for myself.

fiffi'm trying to load them to email ya as i type this. sending you about 5 pics which are things i will probably be putting in here soon.
that blanket is far from perfect...its doesn't lay completely flat and it sort of bows in at places but it does it job. i need to bring it out and use it again. the sleeping bag at the end of the bed needs to be washed!

Jeane, I don't think anybody in this forum cares. The blanket
was an incredible work of love. Love is not perfect there are only two
perfect forms of love. Your pets and God's. Actually God's love and
your pets love are one and the same. They are both unconditional.

Got the pics! The blanket is beautiful even if it doesn't lay completely flat. I can see the stitches are nice and even, the color combinations are wonderful!

some of you might remember how Toothpick likes to play puppet with plastic bags. here's one time when he not only put his paw i the bag to play puppeteer but he tried to wear the bag as well. and don't worry, he only had that around his neck til i had the picture taken! (and yep, he got his head in there all on his own!)

Archimedes did that once when I wasn't paying attention. He freaked himself out and went tearing around the house with that evil plastic bag chasing him. Poor kitty. I had to figure out how to snag him to release him from the horrible hold of the BAG. It was funny even if it was scary.

Re: Rescue Kitty and others.....
Bijoux did that too once, and the bag had a tin of brownie mix in it. And we weren't home when he did it, we found him in his bed with the bag still around his neck..............I just know he was running all over the place crying for help, with that evil bag bumping him in the butt and following him no matter where he went...............the tin was dented all over.

If that is Salem, he sure has a devilish look in his eye sitting in that basket.
