Saving money

yeah pennies are the norm....but it your store has light colored tile you can find dimes cuz people don't see them when they drop.
June was the first month i DIDN"T find $1 worth of change! the summer is hard to find stuff around here..a lot of folks in this town go out of town for the summer. (funny thing is, back in the olden days this was a town where people came for the summer because of the lakes etc!)

I found one penny today.

I found two..in the grocery store and not far from where the guy was standing trying to get people to sign up for accounts at the bank there. i was waiting to see if he would ask me to sign up and i was going to tell him as soon as i had enough found pennies i would;)

I didn't find anything Sun or Monday but I didn't leave the house.
Pennies are fairly easy to find, and I've found a good share of dimes. I guess since they are small they are easy to lose. Quarters I usually find in the slots. The least I find is nickels.
Haven't found anything yet today, but there's still hope. I have to go out for lunch, and then there is the return trip home.

nickles are hard to find cuz they're the coin people get the least! its the coin we use the least at work and ya know, i give out fewer nickles than i do pennies when it comes to change!

i found a few nickles and a quarter the other day and it brought me enough to make the $1 i didn't get in June. so now i think i'm working on my 8th dollar for the year.

nothing today so far, but I found a dime and 2 pennies on my way home yesterday.

They increased the price of both the NY Daily News and the NY Post this week to 75 cents each. there are a couple of free newspapers around but I like some things about the news (MUtts)and post. but I don't like to pay for them, so I keep an eye out on the train for discarded papers. and I will also read them at the library

i saw a note about the increase at the grocery store...how much were they to start with? i've never bought either one.....i don't know, tabloid style papers just don't scream accuracy to me.

they have been 50cents for a while, but I remember when they were 25 cents

found a Panamanian penny this morning

i found a penny on the floor at work today before the store opened...one of the managers was there and i told him "geez, i've got my pay for the day!"

I found a Canadian nickel in my living room. I have no idea how it got there but it is now part of my foreign money collection.

I actually think I do have a buffalo nickel.

I might have mentioned that I collect coins, especially the old one, like buffalo nickels, indian head pennies and the old silver quarters, halfs and dimes

i can't remember....it was somebody who didn't have a single buffalo nickle in their collection. cuz when i found one i stuck it in a place where i see if almost every day and i keep forgetting to say something in here. if its nobody in here i'll just stick in the little bag where i had my odd coins.

I read the newspaper at the library or sometimes at my moms building..........the cheapest one is $1 here.

we used to get the sunday paper a work years and years ago. think the manager used to buy it to get the ad for the week. that's the last time i was reading the paper. i don't remember the last time i bought a paper...maybe when an article about patrick was in it?

If that Buffalo nickel has a date I need I'd appreciate it if you could send it my way, Jeane.

i've got to look at it to see if you can even still read the date. its not exactly in collectable condition (but good for someone who just thinks having one is neat). i'll look and if i can read it i'll let ya know what it says!

believe me, some of my coins are hardly readable but if it fills in a gap its needed. LOL

gotta check Rite Aid today. they are having a sale on toothpaste and offering an on line rebate which would make it free. I thought I had a coupon for the brand but can't find it.

I've never seen a buffalo nickle. But I do have a few wheatback pennies. Been years since I got one of those as change though.

I'm still getting some wheat pennies as change and even finding them on the floor

lots of buffalo nickels get taken up by jewelry makers who incorporate them into jewelry. I used to have a wallet where the snap was made from a buffalo nickel

i used to save the wheat pennies i got...there are people who think they're foriegn money and put them in the side cup in the registers. unless they're something really special they're not worth more than a penny so i don't bother any more. i'd rather have the penny in a roll to turn into my savings account than have a pile of them sitting here getting funky. i have one little coin purse around here somewhere that has a few little special coins in it but its not much.

Really Lovekitties? Have you ever found a 1941 penny? I finally got one for my mom's birthyear but not my dads and I really want one. I've saved every single wheatback penny I've ever found. I might have about 15 of them. It's hard to find pennies from the early 60's too.

I'll have to check my wheaties to see if I have any 1941s extra. I also save all the wheaties I find if they are from the 40s or earlier.

Yesterday was one of the rare days when I did not find any change at all. still nothing so far today but I haven't gone outside for lunch yet.
