Do you think you'll ever have another kitty, LK? With a name like Lovekitties, I think you really need one. Saving money - Page 33 1873251044

I agree, perhaps be a foster to an older cat. They are the ones most at risk.

A nice loving kitty can help you with that. Smile It's hard NOT to get your act together when you have a kitty depending on you to make a nice home for them.

I got attacked by a dollar bill in my car today. I had put it in the cup holder and forgot about it. It stuck to the bottom of the coffee cup and fell into my lap. I hope that means money will fall from the sky soon!

On my way to the library on Saturday, I found a rather wet 5 dollar bill in the street. It dried off nice and is in my "rainy day" can where I also keep the change I find. Hopefully I will not have to go into it for a while and find a job

found a pile of pennies on the subway platform the other day. picked up 36cents before the train came in. I've noticed panhandlers dumping pennies before. It all adds up, though

Very true, and I'm glad you're finding all that change...plus the $5. It does all add up....this week I've found .13 so far. Best week in months for me.
They still give you deposit money for returning bottles? We haven't had there around me in decades, but I remember as a kid picking up every bottle I could find. Helped me pay for a birthday present for my mom one year.

NY has recycling on bottles and cans and many of them have a 5 cent deposit., There are some people who make a job of collecting the empties and cashing in

I collect the aluminum pop cans, save them up in a garbage can, then cash them in. Get about $4 for every canfull (flattened).
Any luck on the job front?

I went to the used book store today, held off until I was paying my credit card bills (thereby combining the trips- gotta save on the metrocard, cant use it frivolously as its $2.50 a trip.
I got $13 for the turned in paperbacks.
Hopefully I will take a bunch of books in to the city to the Strand tomorrow (depending on the weather.)
I found a $1 coin in the return slot in a game machine at the diner the other day
