hissy spitty kitties
These two are my latest project. They're ferals, and I've had them about a week. Monty, the orange and white one, is actually pretty tame now. He demands food and will purr when I hold him. Bartleby can be held, but he still hisses at us an awful lot. I just put them on Petfinder today, and once they get a couple of weeks older and have their vaccinations done, they can go to a pet fair and find some nice homes. (Fiffur, the picture here is the same one that's on their petfinder page--the one with both kittens.)

Awwwww...! Hopefully they're less hissy and spitty when their turn at the Pet Fair comes around. Who could blame them though? Before they met you...who knows how they had been treated or if they even known people at all! Good luck

I LOVE yellow stripey kitties! Funny, I never cared for orange ones as much, but Bobby absolutely stole my heart.

Last night Bartleby purred when I picked him up! It made me stay up past my bedtime, but it was worth it. Monte is becoming a little schmoozer. They go in for their vaccinations after school today.

Hee The way you put it, it sounds like the kittens are going to school This is exactly what I thought for about 2 seconds before I remembered that you are a teacher!

I have been known to bring feral kittens to school with me, as I have a big walk in storage closet in my classroom, and then I can work with the kittens during the day. I haven't done it with these kittens because they have each other for company during the day, and they're coming along well without being trucked back and forth.

Awwwwwww.......................they're adorable! I am so glad Bartleby is starting to purr for you. I'm sure these two will find a home quickly when they're ready. I hope somebody goes for a 2-for-the-love adoption.

Well, got both kitties their first vaccination this afternoon. Turns out that Bartleby is a girl, so she's now called Barbra. I've got to learn to take a closer look once the kittens let me handle them. Seems there are more orange females than I thought.

They could've been Chickpea and Chickpea's Brother! I really really hope that somebody takes them both.

don't feel bad ...kittens are hard to figure out. i can't remember where i read it or heard it, but something about one looks like a colon and one looks like a semi colon from behind. i remember having to figure it out when i was on the farm and was pretty good at it...but wouldn't say so much now (its been too long ...even though now i see a lot of cat pooters really up close...esh!)

Re: hissy spitty kitties
When they're this little, it's more a question of location. The little boys private parts are farther apart, but with tiny kittens, it's difficult to see the difference (for me, at least.)
