naw, didn't get any of the grilling last night nor did i get any of whatever they were cooking tonight. i got some of this seafood spread at the store today and i ate about half of that one crackers...but i think in a little bit i'm going to heat up a $1 tv dinner...found a new flavor (something i could make easily but its cheaper to get frozen) mac and cheese with beef mixed in. i want to try it and if its good i'll get some frozen peas and whenever i eat it again i'll throw a handful of peas in the mix;)

Ended up having barely warmed up clam chowder AFTER I cooled off at mom's for a while.

I'm thinking of maybe cooking those spare ribs in the crockpot............

that frozen cheesy mac and meat (don't want to call it 'beef' cuz it tasted synthetic and there wasn't more than a teaspoonful of it!)was kinda lousy even after i mixed some beans into it. i doni't think i'm going to get it again..i have one in the freezer but that will be it.

today i came home to find my mail on top of a baking dish so i figured it was my dinner. it looks like sheperd's pie...i have to put it in the oven and heat it up. its really hot in the laundry room(where my 'kitchen' is) cuz (I presume)the son in law was doing laundry in there while i was gone...the washer was wide open (i swear i'm going to come home to find a cat trapped and dead in there!)oh well.blahblahblah)....its cooling down a bit now..i've had my little 12" fan going since i got home.

we had out "birthday lunch at work today. Once a moth we celebrate the peoples whose birthday is in that month with a cake and sandwiches and pasta salad and tossed salad and a fruit plate, so I'm still pretty full. not sure what I'll have tonight. it's so hot

do you have a blender,lk? lately i've been thinking about how cool it would be to make a nice smoothy to 'eat' when its so hot. if you're full from lunch a smoothie might make a good dinner;)

last night i dug out the partial bag of french fries i had in the freezer for 3+ yrs and baked them. they were okay...i had to wash the ice off them to unclump 'em though! made a little more room on my shelf of the freezer.

We seemed to have an endless supply of various leftovers lately - and I think we polished off the last of them, save for a couple of hard boiled eggs and a bowl of grits. That means tomorrow we have to cook something again!

TOMATOES! The garden decided to go crazy this year. I have a tomato jungle and this week is the first week of ripe fruits. I also got some poblano peppers, but they will go into eggs with salsa tomorrow. I ate 2 tomatoes sliced with salt and some reheated scallops. YUMMY!

about 2 min after i came home last night the electric went off and was off for a couple hours. the only thing i had to eat that wasn't a tv dinner was a can of chicken (similar to tuna)and some burger buns i had just brought home. so i had part of the can of chicken with some salad dressing and relish mixed in on a bun. about that time the electric came back on. I was hungry all night but didn't want to waste one of the few tv dinners i still have by eating more! (this week is cat food week cuz its so cheap so i'm not buying much for myself...as long as the electric stays on i can eat those tv dinners or something else that's been sitting in the fridge for so long i can't remember!)

Ham and cheese quiche with salad.

Hubby tried a copy cat receipe of crispy creme doughnuts but the dough did not rise right- he also made Auntie Anne's soft pretzels and they were yummy!!
