Re: 2013 gardening attempts
I went to the blueberry farm about 5 miles from my house. I stuffed myself while I picked. It was HOT, so the farm was closing early, but it was worth getting up early and sweating like a piggy.

Re: 2013 gardening attempts
I love green and banana peppers too as a snack. And those blueberries look divine!
Re: 2013 gardening attempts
How I wish I could sprout wings and fly down there for fresh blueberries. This next week the weather won't be as hot and humid, and it's been AGES since I had fresh blueberries.

Re: 2013 gardening attempts
I eat so many while picking that I get a stomach ache. Today's treat is going to be lemon Italian ice with blueberries sprinkled on top.
I picked about 5 pounds of tomatoes this afternoon. I have 2 plants that look like a virus has gotten to them. They are all shriveled. But, the others are taking over. I have hundreds of the little tomatoes that are going to ripen over the next week or so. The big ones are suddenly all ripening, and the dark ones are getting much bigger than expected.

Re: 2013 gardening attempts
I can eat that by the spoonful all by itself. I have fresh onions from the farm too, so I think it's a to-do.

Re: 2013 gardening attempts
There are melons! I found one today that is about 1/2 its finished size. Others are just starting. But, I think I'll have a few to try soon. (Silverline Melons)

A couple more melons are started. I have a feeling they're all going to be ready at once.

Re: 2013 gardening attempts
They do love some watermelon. I've never tried this kind. I wonder if they'll like it. You know they'll get to try it.

Oooooo, I wish we had a vine like that here! I envy you the garden space, and mostly the success of getting something to grow. I've never had much luck in that respect.

I normally have a brown thumb, but the veggie garden does ok thanks to the natural fertilizer I have hanging around.
