LOL
He did very well on the trip. He liked the hotel because it had breakfast. Bacon!! He also liked the fenced back yard where he could be out all the time without being checked on all the time.

Poor pup. It rained a chilly, nasty rain all day. No walks. He went out with me to do barn chores, and got soaked. He doesn't want to go out again, but I think he should before bed time. It's supposed to rain tomorrow too. Poor pup!

Finally a walkie day. The temps were in the 50s, and no rain. Really nice for January. Poor Bingo was sleepy though. I think he's getting ready for the cold cold weather that is coming our way. I have his coat ready.

Did he go for a walk while the weather was nice?

He walked yesterday. I wouldn't say the weather was nice, but at least it was dry. No walks today. He bounded through the snow in the morning just to find a spot to go. He hasn't been out since. We've dug him a pee path. Poor guy.

Poor dog says that 17 degrees is too cold. He went out to help me feed horses this morning, and even with his coat, he was shivering. I let him back in, and he hasn't moved from the wood stove since. One more day, and he will be happy to see melting and mud. (I, on the other hand, could do without the mud.)

I understand about the mud. You know he and the ponies are going to find every unfrozen puddle in the mid Atlantic states.

He hasn't been TOO bad with the puddles. He seems more interested in drinking from them than splashing. It was 63 degrees today, so he had a great time sitting on the porch. We even got to go on a walk, which seems unusual these days.

63! I'd kill for that kind of temp right now. We got ice overnight and more on the way when the sun goes down. Raining and cold, just barely enough to be rain and not sleet.
Glad Bingo hasn't become a mud monster--yet.

That was an anomaly. It's been in the 40s and dreary almost every day since. Bingo is not a fan of the weather, so he hasn't been playing outside much. He is going for a bath on Friday, so if he's going to get muddy, he'd better do it soon.

Re: Bingo found a home
The hounds are out! Hunters are after something (fox? coyote?), and Bingo heard a big pack of them across the street. He went into the woods, and I worried that he would tangle with some of them. But, he was good and came when I whistled. No other dogs came with him, so I guess he was patrolling "his" area even though it isn't our property.

And today, Bingo's friend, Mateo, is visiting. He is so happy. He got to walk with his other friend, William, and then his friend came for a slumber party. It is a good day for doggies.

Re: Bingo found a home
Today, I tried to freeze my poor doggie. It was flurrying in the early morning, so we went on a walk later. I thought the snow was over. But, noooo! By the time we got home, it was like a mini-blizzard. Fortunately, it ended pretty quickly, and nothing stayed around. But yuck! Bingo spent the rest of the day tucked in next to the wood stove.

Re: Bingo found a home
He is a silly dog. After the weather cleared up, he ran into the woods. I don't know what he's after, but he really likes to go over there. He stays close to the house, but he's on the hunt. I haven't seen anything running out, so I think he's just following a scent. I hope he's not looking for fawns. They should be hitting the ground soon.

Re: Bingo found a home
Hunting hound! He went out last night to do his business before bed, and there was a big deer in the side yard. I heard it, but not before he did. Ears perked, off we went like a shot. BARROOOOO!!! Into the woods. I knew he wouldn't go far, but he was having a heck of a time. The poor deer probably wasn't even though I know my dog wouldn't hurt him. After about 10 minutes, he came strutting out of the woods with his head held high and tail all perked up. I heard the deer snuffing around in the woods. I hope he got to come back and finish his snack of yard grass. (I am the only person in the world who likes deer munching my yard. They don't bother the other plants, so they're welcome!)
