Junko, calico kitten

We adopt adult kitties because we know they have a harder time finding homes. We have taken in several kittens, but usually when people bring them by after finding a sad case.

Arwen already had her right eye removed before the shelter put her up for adoption. Her missing one eye never deterred us from adopting her.

I am doing okay. I am still making sure my favorite hooman still takes care of me. I don't make it easy for her. She tries to meet my demands. Of course I greet her when she come home from chasing green papers. She thinks I look after her too.

Junko

Junko has been crying more often. Mainly for attention from me. I am definitely Junko's favorite human. It's hard being a full time staff to Junko while having a job.

MOL You humans are our staff whether you like it or not.

Winnie

Oh Winnie!! My hooman didn't go chase green papers at all last week. She mentioned she had a week off and will still get green papers. She went back to leaving to chasing green papers today. I got a lot of time with my hooman. I have made it known she is my staff.

Junko

My hoomans have been sick all week. I was very worried all last night. They coughed a lot last night. They started to take medicine today and not coughing as much.

Junko

My human has been working and working. She seems very tense and stays at the desk too much. I bump into her to remind her to get off her butt or it will get big. MOL

Really... I know she chases green papers, but this is just silly. she needs to spend time with US.

Winnie

I make sure my favorite hooman spends time with me when she gets home. Yesterday, I walked by her as she barely closed the door and she turned around to find me. By then, I had already flopped and I got a belly rub. She understands my requests for belly rubs.

Junko

I like belly rubs. My sister pretends she does, but when the people start to pet her there, she hisses. I think she's a tease.

Mouski

Belly rubs are on my terms. I get told that I'm a different type of special due to my fur colors I was born with.

Junko

That's what my meowmy tells me. I do not - ever - allow belly rubs though. When I was a wild kitty, my belly was a vulnerable spot. I do not let anyone touch it. But, I demand that everyone pet me on my beautiful head.

Winnie

I like being petted on my head too. Sometimes, I let my favorite hooman scritch me between my ears.

Junko

I like being stroked above my eyes. I bump my head into hands to get the hoomans to pet just the right way.

Winnie

I have been crying a lot for attention lately. I usually get it from my favorite hooman. She really loves me.

Junko

I have been talking at night. It isn't really crying. I like to talk loudly so my humans know I am around.

Mouski

There have been times I cry during the night and sometimes my hooman gets out of bed. Then I take her to a spot of my choosing and flop. She rubs my belly. I eventually allow her go back to bed.

Junko

Your hooman loves you very much, Junko.

I know I'm loved and wanted. I have days where I am very needy. My favorite hooman thinks she has a hard time getting me to settle down. What does she expect when she leaves chase green papers? I greet her at the front door and she puts everything down and takes care of me.

Junko

Whenever Lorien wanted her back scratched, she headbutted a leg and turned around with her butt facing us. We scratched her back and the base of her tail. Lorien always loved it when the base of her tail got scratched.

Junko discovered that my small space heater was out and turned while I was the phone talking to a friend. She helped herself to some heat. Smart cat.

Wow! We don't have those here, but if we did, I bet Winnie would be asking Junko for instructions. Our upstairs is quite warm, so the kitties spend all their time up there unless they're downstairs to eat.

Junko only does it when I'm in the room while it's on. She is a bit spoiled.

The kitties spent all night on the bed with me. After a warm spell, we're going back to cooler temperatures. Even though it's still a bit warm for January, the kitties say they're ready for summer.

I'm ready for summer. I like being able to open windows to air out the rooms on nice days.
