boarding school 2015

Today was much better. Sun and warm. I rode both horses for a short time. I noticed that Kina has a bump on the side of her knee. It doesn't seem uncomfortable, but it's weird. I wonder if she bumped it on something. It would really stink for her to have something happen right before homecoming.

That it would. Is she moving sound?

For the most part. She's a bit short when she tries the extended trot. It is time for her Legend injection. We'll see how things go. If she isn't better soon, I'll call the vet and just get spring shots a little early.

I hope she's better in time to go home for the summer.

They are both home now. She seems fine. It's probably just old lady arthritis. I'll give her her shot tomorrow, and let her have a couple days rest. She should be back to normal by then.

I can sympathize with her and arthritis....mine has been bad the past few days.

I plan to ride tomorrow morning. It will be her day, so we'll see how things go.

Still a bit limpy. She's a tough girl, so she tried to power through. I won't ride a lame horse, so we only had a very short ride. I think she'll get a few more days off. I think the vet will be here for spring shots soon, so if she isn't better by then, I might x-ray her foot. She has a very old, healed injury on that hoof. Something might be going wonky in there. Arthritis? Maybe. Could be some bone spurs or something. There's really no telling without a picture.

Good plan to me.

She's still limpy. She has a bump on one of her knees. It doesn't seem to hurt when I push on it or squeeze it, so I'm not sure if that's the culprit. The vet comes on Friday. I'll ask her, and maybe get an x-ray.

Hoping it isn't anything serious......

Fingers crossed! She is an old girl. Maybe she needs some bute for her off days. Who knows? She won't do any riding until we figure out what's up and get her right. It's just not right to ride an ouchy horse.
