Sue and I like the spicy stuff, but I'm sure it's optional.
Tonight was leftover baked spaghetti. It's always better left over.

Pork chops, sweet potatoes, and asparagus with a nice Chardonnay. Time to start thinking about autumn foods. (Yeah... I know asparagus is a spring food, but there it was, and it looked so good!)

Chicken and potatoes cooked in a cast iron skillet. Sauce is chicken broth, herbs de Provence, and a little butter. Simple but yummy. Spinach on the side. Crisp white.

Stuffed cheeseburgers with bacon. They were so big, I couldn't finish mine. Despite his milk allergy, I let Bingo help. I have some Benadryl if he gets itchy. I hope he doesn't get that way. So far, no signs of bad reactions.

Lucky dog. Since I'm leaving for holiday tomorrow, it's a heat and serve chicken pot pie and red wine.

I had an easy dinner tonight. Campbell's Yes! chicken and rice soup. This new brand is actually really tasty. I haven't found a flavor that tastes too mass made. It hit the spot.

Homemade chicken pot pie. I've never made one like this before, but it was easy and really good. Farm chicken, onions, celery, carrots, zucchini, potatoes. Boiled the chicken with mirepoix, and skimmed fat and used that to make the pie liquid (added a blonde roux). Put the veg in the juice with a little herbs de Provence, and cooked until everything was soft, added the chicken, and filled a blind-baked pie shell. Put the top, on baked until brown, and YUM. Good eats for the first really chilly fall night.

Lobster bisque from Wegmans. Quite tasty. I bought some decent sherry to put on it, so it was a bit better than fresh out of the package.

Middle Eastern burgers made with ground lamb, mint leaves, and spices. They were good. I think I'll pass on the tahini sauce next time. The tahini was a pain to stir up, and I thought the sauce was quite bland.

Re: For Dinner Tonight?
Last night I broiled a steak, with sauteed spinach and some kind of winter squash. It looked like a pumpkin and I was clueless on how to cook it. I ended up coating it with canola oil baking at 350 till it was tender. I scooped it out and seasoned it with butter, salt and nutmeg.

Chinese food because we're still doing housework getting ready for my friend to come tomorrow. She's watching the kids while we're on vacation.

Chili since I won't be able to eat that for at least 2 months after this Wednesdays' surgery.

That's what we had tonight. It's kind of cold outside. Perfect weather for it.

Some type of fish. My neighbor had defrosted some fish and wasn't able to cook it before it left for Austin. I baked it off with some peanut sauce and served it over a bed of udon noodles and some chopped up cucumber.

Frozen ravioli. My trip to the store was blocked by trick-or-treat in town. They blocked the street so the kids could run around without getting smashed. I forgot all about it since no one ever comes to the house.

Shepherd's pie made with ground turkey. I used Better Than Bullion to make a dark gravy, which made it taste more like the real thing. We just needed to use up that turkey.

Since it's Breeders Cup day, I picked up take away soup and salad from Whole Foods. The wine was a merlot from 14 hands since they are a sponsor of the Breeders Cup.
