How's the weather?

Getting a bit warmer every day, heading up to 90+ and stiffling humid by next Wednesday, just in time for the first day of school. 66 this morning at sunup again. Looking like it might rain too. Supposed to get up to around 86 today.

We had a torrential downpour and thunderstorm last night around 8PM just as i was leaving the library and went to the diner. by the time I finished eating and left the diner the rain had stopped but it was still lightnight almost continuously for about a half hour afterwards.
it's hazy now, sun is trying to peek through. more rain scheduled for this afternoon

We got lightning, thunder, and suddenly BLACK skies around 8am today. Right after a huge bolt of lightning hit somewhere downtown here the skies opened up: torrential can't see past your nose rain and huge hail started coming down. Came down like that over half an hour, the streets were flooded, I was trapped in my car. No way was I getting out of it in that downpour.

On the plus side, the car is super clean, the gardens have been watered (perhaps overwatered), and the gunk in the streets have been swept away down the drains. If I'd had laundry on a line during all that it would've been scoured clean without needing any soap.

More of the same in the forecast for later today, with rising temps.

This morning has been a repeat of Saturday: torrential rain, black skies, wind...........I didn't know IL had a monsoon season.

beautiful yestereday and today. but we will be battening the hatches for Hurricane Irene this weekend.

HUMID AND HOT! Heavy thick fog for work this morning, could barely see a block and a half away. Going up to 90 with still more humidity, heat index around 100. Nice weather for the first day of school, huh?

hopefully the kids in the school have air conditioning. Nice today, mid 80s and sun shining, getting a bit more humid. tomorrow chance of tstorms in afternoon/evening. I hope they hold off while I walk down to the museum
Still not sure what trajectory Irene will take . We'll be getting rain over the weekend but it might be a little or it might be hurrican sized.

i've got to dig in the closet and see if i can find my raincoat (I had a nice rubbery plastic pink one that was big enough to put onver my back pack but i haven't been able to find it for years!)and my duck shoes. i don't know if i should try to walk in the duck shoes or just take my ripped up pair of old sneakers to walk home in the rain if there's flooding. i'm off for two days but they're saying the storm will hit either Sat or Sun when i'll be working.
i'm sure they won't close the store even if there is a full blown tear the house down hurricane.

still gearding up for the hurrican which is supposed to hit us on Sunday. looks like it might be really bad out over Long Island, hopefully from my standpoint, over the east end of the island. I live on the west end

A bit warmer today, not too bad though. By next Thursday we'll be flirting with 90 and humid again, along with storms. We haven't had a normal thunderstorm in ages, they all seem like the monsoon rolling in instead.

We were at 56 this morning, supposed to get up to around 80 today with only slightly rising humidity. So not a bad day overall so far.

Too damned hot! After several weeks of halfway decent temps, now we're back in the broiler. It was still 81 and very humid at 2am today. 78 at 6am before the sun came up. They're warning us it will be feeling like 100+ this afternoon by the time school lets out. Several schools are letting out early (not mine) because of the heat and the buses not having AC. Right now it's cloudy so it's only 86 and feels like 90. But the clouds are looking a bit thinner on the horizon..............headed my way.

Well for the first time in over 60 days we didn't break a hundred. Right now depending on which
reporting station that you believe it's either 82 or 79 and they are saying overnights in the upper
60's. I guess that means it's fall in Texas, now for some rain.

It's in the 50's right now. The high is predicted to be in the 70's today. I don't know how long this weather will last.

nice....HOT though...waiting to see what the 'cold front' that's due in tonight brings. i figure rain and storms but hope it cools off!

rainy and cool (mid 60's. ) supposed to be like this most of the week, thanks to Mr Lee. I don't mind the 60s but I don't like being waterlogged. At least the rain held off during the long weekend and gave all the businesses at the beach who lost out during Hurricane Irene a chance to recoup for the last beach weekend of the season

when i went out to go to work this morning the house next door's yard was one big muddy puddle...i was afraid that there would be flooding in houses around here because the ground was so water logged....but so far so good here. i don't know what the areas that were just starting to dry out are doing. it lightened up a but for about three hours but by the time i was out of the grocery store to walk home it was pouring again!(luckily i broke down and got another 'garbage bag raincoat' i found at kmart..hey, only $1.39 and its a pretty sort of minty green:)

I think the high ended up being in the upper 60's today.

Hoo, that cold front that's kept ya'll so cool has met Lee right over us, causing huge downpours and tornado swirls all around. Been a bit scary here! Several tornados spotted via radar in my area but thankfully none touched down so far. Very hot & sticky here in NC.

I read that there was a tornedo outside of Albany in an area that was really hit hard with flooding last week because of irene.
Flood watches and warnings all around here, especially in Jeane's area of NJ. all the places that were flooded last week are in trouble again. We got another 3 inches of rain yesterday and I know there was even more out by Jeane
It's still raining now but not to hard. I think the sun is trying to come out

Much cooler. Rained all day Saturday, then the temps dropped........it was barely 45 yesterday and 46 this morning for work. We get up to barely 70 in the afternoons. But compared to last weeks temps this feels good.
