BIJOUX Empty BIJOUX

Post by fiffur Mon Jun 21, 2010 12:31 pm

I hope the upcoming rainstorms aren't so wicked this week like Fridays were. Those storms were so bad it had us peoples on edge too. There are still people in Rockford with no electricity!

In his snugglebed when I walked in yesterday, just waking up from a nap. Mom was still out, on the couch lightly snoring. I gave Bijoux a nice hello kiss and face cuddle. He sure was quick to get in my lap when I sat down to read. Mom only woke up long enough to acknowledge me. Bijoux went over to her to see if she was still awake (nope, fell back asleep asap), otherwise he was firmly snuggled into my lap for loving massages and ear scritchies. A couple hours later he went to get a snack, go potty, check the front door (nope, no visitors there), check on mom (still asleep darn it), and ask me for a treat and more crunchies. Went to his lil cuddlebed to nap off his crunchies and was still there when I left for home (I did get nitenite kisses). Mom was still asleep so no ride on the walker last night that I know of.

I wonder what Bijoux will do when he hears a stranger in Brad's apartment today. He's supposed to be getting a personal helper who starts work today. I know Bij can hear what goes on through the walls and will be eavesdropping.

Well, he didn't seem to notice anything new going on, he was too busy snuggling with mom all day long.

In his lil cuddlebed when I walked in, napping. I woke him up just by opening the door, and all I could see in the dark was two lil glowing eyes blinking the sleep away. Long leisurely stretch like a halloween cat, jump to the floor, stretch in both directions front and back as far as he could go without falling over, then slowly walk over to greet me. Nice hello snuggle, and several attempts to sit on my lap but not sit on naked legs. LOL Mom got up and he had to follow her to help in the bathroom.............and almost trip her all the way back out to the livingroom. Why does he think we're as graceful on our feet as he is? Mom told me he was all wound up and playing at midnight and again at 3am, batting toys and running all over the place. He woke her up at 3am with the rattle ball, rolling and batting it all over and off the door with a resounding THWACK! He has hidden his little stuffed duck but the catnip fleece hamster toy I made last year has reappeared, and has been all over the apartment. He took a quick nap in the middle of the couch, and only moved when mom wanted to lay down. Then he was laying on top of the remotes, staring at her. She swears he does that so she can't change the channel. Typical male.....has to have control of the remote. A nice song n dance for his dinner, and when she asked if he wanted to go byebye he flew to the walker and jumped up on the seat, ready to go. We took him upstairs for a stroll and he was so alert, taking in the new scenery and listening to the frogs through the open windows. Then he got to escort me out, and watched through the door's window until I was out of sight. No nitenite kisses unless I get it BEFORE mom announces he's going for a ride on the walker.

Mom was sleeping on the couch again almost the entire time I was there, she'd been up all night long doing who knows what? So I got Bijoux all to myself, which suited me just fine. From the nice warm greeting at the door to the extended snugglefest, to the extensive play session, and even responding to the Wetfood Revue with a slightly early dinner, I enjoyed having "my" cat. Mom woke up just in time to take him for a ride on the walker to see me off on my way home. He sure enjoys that, and expects it now every night and sometimes during the day too. Don't even have to ask if he wants to go out anymore, I just head for the door and he's there all ready to go. Very Happy I still don't get a nitenite kiss if he's gone for a walker ride though......

Again mom was sound asleep on the couch, so Bijoux was right at the door waiting for me. Since I took a different way into the building, how did he know I was there about to come in? I know I didn't jangle my keys or walk heavily. Anyway, got a nice snuggle in, combing session, massaging, and rock the baby. He was still on my lap while I crocheted schmouse toy tails, until the phone rang and woke my mom up and made Bijoux jump. My nephew came to visit with Maggie, but since dogs who don't live there aren't supposed to be in the building I sat with Maggie on the porch while my nephew went inside to see my mom and Bijoux. She told me Bijoux was all over him, and both were lovin' up on each other. Meanwhile I got in some nice snuggles with wigglebutt Maggie, who settled down after a few minutes (she was SOOOO excited to see me!) and proceeded to listen to the birds and frogs, and people watch from my lap. When Matthew went to leave my mom came out and sat with Maggie for about 10 minutes. Maggie was overexcited to see her too, and gave her grandma lots of puppy kisses like she did me. We both got the third degree sniff from Bijoux when we came back in. His tail got all poofy just from Maggie's scent, so we know he remembers her all too well from her one and only visit in HIS territory. Nice lil funny song n dance for his wetfood, and disappeared after he was finished eating. Asked him if he wanted to go for a ride on the walker to see me off but he must've been too stuffed to move since he didn't take her up on the offer. No nitenite kiss for me again. Good thing I got plenty from Maggie.

Bijoux sure has been a clingy cat lately. He's been glued to mom a lot, she's had a sore back for days now. I get nice warm greetings, and a short cuddle, then he goes to check on mom (who's usually sleeping on the couch), then back to me for some more cuddling. Mom usually wakes up around the time I'm ready to leave, so I'm busy crocheting or reading with Bijoux on my lap until then. As soon as she gets up he follows her all over, and then heads to the door for his nightly ride on the walker. Last night was no exception. Mom didn't go to Brads for the movie, she was too sore and too tired, so I left Bijoux snuggled with her. He was still there when I got back, keeping a close watch over her. I got the Wetfood Revue Show in all it's glory (hehehehehe) with much legrubbing and butt pawing to boot. A short thankyou cuddle and burp, a second trip to the bowl, then mom got thanked. I told her he was thanking her for buying the wetfood in the first place. A quick zip around the apartment playing with toys and he was asking for his nightly ride. Ran into 3 people in the community room working on the puzzle on the way to the patio door, and Bijoux was carrying on a conversation with one of them. The most talkative he's been in days. Bijoux sure was pouring on the charm, and it worked. He was the center of attention. When I knelt down to wish him nitenite I actually got a nitenite kiss. I don't even think he noticed I left the room and went home. He was too busy being worshiped by his fans.

I know about clingkitty. When I got back, Gateway decided to be my shadow. I don't mind though. He has been quite the little love bug for a couple days. The wetfood revue here has been doubled. GK has started to join in, although he doesn't dance much. (Could it be the big belly that keeps him from standing up to dance?)

Heehee! Nope. GK squeaks a lot, but he's usually quiet at food time. Weird little guy.

Right now, Gateway is crashed on the arm of the chair. I think the heat is getting to everybody. The horses are drooped in their stalls under their fans and the kitties are sleeping under fans too. OK even showed up to make sure he had food and cool(er) shelter. He looks pretty ragged, but his appetite is good and he's still asking for petting. He will clean up soon enough hanging out here where it's safe.

the only kitty here that is smart enough to hang out in front of the fan is Toothpick! he spends most of his time on the bed when i'm here cuz i have at least one fan going in that area the whole time i'm home. (afraid to leave them on when i go to work...don't want to start a fire).
salem is driving me crazy cuz he wants to spend all his time (and i mean even when i'm on the bed reading etc)on a rubbermaid tote in the outer area where nobe is. (I keep moving the stuff so he can't hang out there and nobe has her space but when i'm gone folks come down here and move things around..esh!)
i want every critter and human to have a nice cool place to hang out!

Bijoux doesn't seem to mind being a bit warm lately, he's been clingycat for mom the past few days. For me too for that matter. Getting nice greetings at the door, lots of snuggletime too. Last night he was firmly snuggled into my lap while I was eating a bowl of potato soup at my chair. Good thing I didn't want seconds, I couldn't get up. Tried to get him to play a bit but his response was half-hearted, he just wanted to snuggle or be held. Unless it was dinnertime, then get out the band for the WETFOOD REVUE SHOW! Last nigth before wetfood time we were eating a few strawberry flavored marshmellows. Bijoux not only had his head in my bag looking for them but had his nose pushed inside the bag itself as far as he could go, trying to help himself. When I offered him some nibbles he was ever so daintily taking lil bites. But when mom offered him a few nibbles he got a good hold and took the entire marshmellow out of her fingers! Shocked He looked so pleased with himself (HA! I got the WHOLE thing!) until mom took it away from him and told him he was supposed to only take a few bites, not the whole marshmellow. Bijoux swears those marshmellows are the next best thing to catnip and fresh beef! Last night's Wetfood Revue Show was good and funny. He really went out of him way to be entertaining I tell you. Several burps along with cuddle-me requests. When I told him I was going home, he gave me a couple nitenite kisses and headed straight for the walker seat and sat there, waiting. Mom wasn't ready to go so he had to wait for his ride. Hope he didn't mind not getting to escort me out of the building.
It's so nice out today we might take him for a couple laps around the building IF mom's back feels better.

I don't think I will get a video of Tortie's wet food revue. She hasn't done it months. It's possible that she finally realized that she will be fed. She is still a Drama Queen even though she doesn't show off as much as she used to.

Haahaa! I can see Tortie with her paw across her eyes, crying, "Why me?" Laughing

Has Bijoux been begging for hugs? Gateway has decided that he is just desperate for attention and lovin'.

Had to laugh at that visual of Tortie being a drama queen Becky.................

YES, Bijoux is literally begging to be held, rocked, cuddled, and in general being made the center of attention. Mom was very glad he came to the door to greet me and cuddle with me, he'd been glued to her ever since I left the previous night. Shocked She said he was snuggled on top of her when all of a sudden he FLEW to the door, I walked in a couple minutes later. Got quite the conversation from him, guess he wanted to tell me about his day. We took him for a ride in his carrier outside to enjoy the nice weather, and when we got inside I let him out of the carrier to walk him home on the leash. just then an upstairs neighbor came down and tried to greet him (he hasn't met her before but she reeked of cigarette smoke) and he pulled hard to get away. Out of his harness he slipped and frantically ran down the hall with me hollaring for him to stop, he headed straight to the apartment door instead, and mewed impatiently like he expected the door to open automatically for him. I caught up to him, opened the door, he flew inside and hide in the bedroom windowsill. I had to get him out of there, told him we could NOT have a naked cat running around, and put his harness back on him. He settled down after that. Mom came in and said it was obvious he only listens to her, not me. But who did he snuggle with all evening long? Me. I wasn't mad at him, I was just afraid that he'd get outside without his harness and tags and we'd never see him again. Got a nice song n dance for his supper, with demands of "burp me" between trips to the bowl. A short thankyou snuggle and he was ready to go for another ride to see me off. But mom said no way, so I got my nitenite kiss and left him on his afghan in my chair.

That may very well be her reaction sometimes. Apparently Bijoux couldn't get enough love and attention. Most of the time, I can't figure out what my brother's cat wants. I do try to figure what she wants, but she literally walks underneath my feet and then abruptly stops underneath my, almost causing me to step on her and fall on her. But then she won't tell me what she wants other than someone to play the Follow The Leader game. confused

Heehee! Silly kitty. I doubt she knows that if you step on her and fall down, she'll get squished. She must be trying to prove SOMETHING. It will be interesting to find out what it is. I'm sure one day you'll find out completely by accident.

Gateway is a complete lovebug and play kitty now. He is almost back to his pre-heart problems self. Has Bijoux been using the computers to send "love your people" messages? Maybe he's using that special kitty ESP.

So glad to hear Gateway is nearly his old pre-heart self! Shows his medical regimen is working. Don't you just love cuddlebug kitties? And yes, I think Bij is using kitty ESP since we don't have a computer at home.

Bijoux has also been a major cuddlebug lately. He's either glued to mom or me most of the time, or he's right there where we are walking around the building or taking a ride on the walker. Mom's back still hurts, and I haven't been all that great the past few days, and Nurse Bijoux seems to know it. Been getting major kitty cuddles from him the past few days. We've also taken him for a walk around the building outside in his carrier, and rides on the walker inside. He sure makes sure we get our exercise! In fact, he insists on it. Got the 3rd degree sniff from him yesterday since my sister stopped to pick up some stuff and had Maggie on the bike with her, then I ran into Buddy and his mom on their walk. Of course I had to cuddle both Maggie and Buddy, they practically begged me to. Very Happy Bijoux is still diving into my bag looking for those strawberry marshmellows, he says they're habit-forming. LOL And he made sure mom didn't forget his dinnertime either. Wetfood Revue has been a bit downplayed lately, probably because we've both been a bit under the weather. How considerate. Gives lots of kisses too, sometimes for no reason at all.

Sure got the 3rd degree again from Bijoux, my sister came over with Maggie again to work on mom's computer. While she was over there, I had Maggie with me at Brads. He loved that lil dog and Maggie seemed to know Brad has some issues. She went from hyper to quiet all of a sudden, and let him hold and pet her. She was good as gold for us. Then before my sister could get across the yard to go home with her they ran into 4 different folks who live in my mom's building, out for a walk. Not only did they fawn all over her while she did all her lil tricks she's learned, but she made a new friend of Buddy. So we smelled of multiple furkids again, and Bijoux knew it. He seems to be getting used to smelling these two on us, the 3rd degree sniff didn't go for as long as before. Got some nice cuddles in before our movie with Brad, and a nice snuggle afterwards before he got his dinner. No nitenite kiss, he was busy watching the Wildlife Show from his window.

What a silly boy I have! Last night Bijoux sat on a small stool, just staring at us, and suddenly he dived into the upright vacuum box (which is almost up to my hip in height). Just sat in there at the bottom looking out, laid down, stood up, looked up at us (mom took pics), then a little awkwardly jumped out of the box onto the stool, which then fell over so he took off like a shot across the room to glare at the stool. hehehehehe To cover up his sudden fearful flight (I meant it to look like that!) he beat up a schmousie and took it all over the place batting it around. Every time I got up to do something Bijoux would steal my spot in my chair. He was also in my crochet bag a lot, diving in trying to find that delicious smelling bag of strawberry marshmallows I've been doling out slowly. Got quite the wetfood revue too, plenty of charades, singing, magic tricks (see, now you see me now you don't), you name it. Nice long snuggles afterwards. Then off to the sleep off his dinner in the cube bed in the bedroom. Wouldn't come out for a ride on the walker, wouldn't stick his face out for a nitenite kiss. Yet when I leave without doing those things, he cries and complains later in the evening after I've left.

Bijoux was quite a lil snugglebug for me for quite a while, until my uncle showed up. For some odd reason he disappeared...............usually Bijoux is all over this uncle, sitting in his lap, asking for loving attention. My uncle didn't stay for very long this trip, so maybe if he had Bijoux would've come out? He came out after my uncle left, looking at the door like "Is he gone already?" Got my lapbaby back though until he decided it was dinnertime, got quite a nice show with much leg weaving, knee pawing, and singing. A huge burp, quick trip to the bathroom, sat in the middle of the livingroom floor washing up. Suddenly he jumped up and practically rolled over, grabbing a catnip mouse in the process and batting it halfway across the room. Zoomed after it, gave it another thwack, gave chase, pounced........nice lil show. He quit when I joined in tossing the mouse......and went to bed in the bedroom cubebed. Would not come out to say nitenite or go for a ride on the walker.

I know Bijoux will have his peaceful home not so peaceful today: they're replacing all the hallway lighting fixtures so that will make a fair amount of noise.
