Impossible to save a penny with this car of mine.............every time I think I might finally get ahead it breaks down and plunges me deep into debt again.

I can't afford a car. Brooklyn is the 2nd most expensive city in America to live in, right after manhattan

I can barely afford it. In fact, if my mom hadn't went halfsies on buying this one I wouldn't have had one for the past few years and we'd be mostly stranded here with no way to even get to a grocery store. I can barley remember the last time I had the car repair bill totally paid off. That was maybe 13 years ago and that only lasted for 2 whole days. Then it broke down and plunged me over $1000 in debt again. Every single car I've ever owned seemed to have a sixth sense of when I'm almost ready to pay off that bill completely......

I found a dime yesterday.

last week I went to the bank and finally changed over the can of coins I had months ago, plus a newly filled tin, got back $98 from all those quarters, dines, nickels and pennies.  !!!!!!!
started a new tin this week

And I just got a $100 Amex gift card in the mail, from a raffle I won at this years Book Expo!!!!

they keep taking out the payphones . hardly any around here anymore. they've taken most of the phones out of the sybways. so there goes more chances for finding change. i hadn't gone to the laundramat across from the library in a while, stopped in last week and found a $1 coin in one of the candy machines!!!

I got 7 small heads of cauliflower this morning.....the little organic grocery downtown was setting them next to the recycling bins (for folks who don't have them at home) as I was putting in my recyclables. I snatched them up as soon as that employee left and pedaled my bike for all I was worth to get them home out of the heat. They all have a couple tiny black spots on them but you can cut that off and use the rest of it just fine. Very firm heads so not bad or moldy or anything like that. Considering non-organic ones are going for $1.39 each at the store I got a real bargain. Guess who's going to be eating a lot of raw cauliflower this week and next?

I agree, and mom and I are still eating cauliflower like crazy! I couldn't believe my luck in fact. I'll probably never fall into a good deal like that again, but I keep checking next to that recycle bin now a lot just in case. And to think they were throwing them out in the garbage.......

I found a dime yesterday in the parking lot. I rarely find a coin that isn't a penny in the parking lot.

been finding less coins lately. There are less phone booths so less opportunity there. Still, my little tin is over 3/4 full now. maybe by the end of the year I can turn the coins in for dollars

I havne't found any change in so long, ever since the pizza place went out of business downtown here.

forgot to mention last Friday when I took a vacation day I went to buy a new watch at Rite aid. usually $10 but it was 25% off and then on top of that they took off $2 for next purchase so it was like $6. then I went to payless and got a pair of shoes on sale for $20 and with my payless reweards card it was $15. Then I found a $20 bill on the street!!!!
