found $2 worth of quarters in a phone return slot yesterday .

Friday night is my office Holiday party. there are raffles and door prizes. 2 years ago I won a really nice picnic basket which I gave my cousin, as she and her husband go sailing and during the summer have picnics on the beach.
last year I didn't win anything but the guy who won lots of stuff is on our phoenix office now so maybe I'll have a chance. It is my birthday, after all. LOL

there were lots of prizes. The grand prize was a 32 in flat screen tv. there were also raffles including a lotto scratch off tree, a 1 day PTO, a $100 gift certificate to target, one to Macy's a $75 gift cert to TRU, and 2 tickets to a nets game. there was also a 50/50 where we threw in $1 bills with our name. 2 people won and it was split 50/50. then there were a whole bunch of $10 gift cards to Subway, Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks. My prize was the last one drawn!

my little tin filled up again so I brought it in to the bank on Saturday. $44.32!
I'm also getting a pile of books together to take back to that bookstore in Oct. The proprietor told me they usually only buy books during the week. and since I work I can't get in to redeem them, but I'll be taking a week off in Oct so I'll bring in a bunch then

this is all change I find on the street, or on the floor in stores, or in slots like payphones, metrocard machines vending machines, etc I have another stash of coins that I save, any change over $1 in my coin purse at the end of the day gets thrown in there. It's a larger tin and its about half full now.

I should go around my house and find the change I just put down. I take it out of my pockets and put it on the kitchen table, the night stand, the desk, wherever. It's silly. I probably have $20 of change lying around the house.
