How's the weather?

WINDY!!!! Nearly blew me off the bike this morning, and it's picking up. Soooo cold too.....we were warmer than yesterday morning but with that wind howling the windchills were a lot colder. About 22, and 4 layers weren't enough to handle it. Brrrrrr..........
I see from the weather map we have the remnants of Sandy moving towards us, and another storm coming from the west coast. Looks like they'll collide right over us here in IL.

It has been windy the past few days. It is windy and rainy today, which from the hurricane.

The wind finally died down! HOORAY!!! It's still cold and gloomy and at the same temps as yesterday, but feels warmer just because the wind is gone. Rain for the weekend though.....our roofers are never going to get the roofing done before the snow flies.

well, I told of my Sandy saga on the sever weather check in page, and I've gotta say I've never seen anything like this in the new York area. My heart goes out to all the people who lost their loved ones, and or homes and businesses to this monster.
My office was closed through Wed. so hopefully I wont have to take PTOs for thiose days but i know i will have to for yesterday and today.
Hopefully there will be train service on Monday and I will be able to get back to the grind.

I hope they do to for your sake Lovekitties. Your boss should understand if the trains aren't running, how are most of his employees supposed to get there in the first place? These should be excused days off without penalty under the circumstances.

Today it's gloomy and cold. Looks like rain though not much of it is in the forecast. Saw what looked like snow on the radar map......if it is it's melting and evaporating before it gets to ground level so far. Brrrrrr.....digging out the electric blanket today.

yesterday felt like it was going to snow, cloudy and blustery. I know it was too warm to snow (high 40s) but it certainly felt like it.

well, it's nowing and blowing out now and I will be venturing out to go home. Hopefully it will take under 2 hours tonight but I doubt it. I'm going to try anew route tonight simply because i cannot stand the crowded conditions on the route i have been using. My only fear is that i will have a long wait for the bus I indend to take since it is not that reliable even when the weather is good. My regular train is still out of commision and they are not promising to have it back soon. I don't understand what the problem is.

I saw that forecast.........what a mess and at the worst possible time. Talk about adding insult to injury.....
I hope your new route works better and they get your regular train working soon. Please check in again so we know you're okay. I heard power was out again in a lot of areas that just got the lights back on, sometimes for just a few hours before it got dark again.

Anyone hear from Jeane? Is she okay?

She is okay but well. Her health worries are dragging on her.

Hello all. The snow turned out to be alot worse than the forcast called for. we had about 6 inches, but by the next afternoon it was all gone. I stuck to the route I was using. the trains seem less crowded as more service is coming back, and the buses are not too bad either, unless you have to wait a long time. They never could stick to a schedule, even when everything is okay. you wait and wait and then 3 or 4 buses come at one time

I've found out a little more on the problem on my train line. From up the next station to mine to Coney Island they tracks were flooded up to the platforms. alot of the track was damaged and all the electricals and signals. until all that damage is repaired I've got to go the alternate route. The train I switch to normally was also affected and they are still working on pumping out the flooded tunnel and repairing electic work there as well.
In the middle of the night I though I heard a train go by. maybe they were running a test train. (I hope)

Here it's warming up a bit, we might even break a record for warmth. The sun is shining for once too. It's 49 out there and climbing. Of course with the warmer weather, we will get rain.......but I dread Monday. Super cold and *gasp* snow, barely 35 for the high is predicted.

Thanks for the update Sue. I hope Jeane got her power back on at least. I'm worried that she's doing without heat in all that cold on top of everything else.

Nice and warm......it's drenching downpouring rain as I type this. Wasn't supposed to rain until tonight after dinnertime. Weatherman lied again. Might hit 72 today! If it does it's a new record.

Sue, you're often the early warning system for us in the lower regions. It's supposed to get much cooler and crappier sometime next week, but today was lovely and tomorrow says sunny and low 70's. Amazing weather for November!

COLD! Yesterday we didn't even break 32 and with the wind it was more like 18-20 out there. Brrrrr.....we even had snowflake wannabees flitting around during my afternoon shift. At least the sun is out today. Hopefully that means it will be a bit warmer this afternoon? I hope so, I have a prediabetes basics seminar to go to and I don't want to have to bundle up to get there, then do a strip tease on arrival so I don't suffocate inside.
