Re: Kittens in a bag
I was thinking that the little 'stache kitten should be called Charlize, since she's a girl and all. I was thinking maybe I could use the names of some famous swimmers for the swimmer kittens, but I'm still a bit unsure on gender for the longer haired ones. I'm pretty sure they're all boys, though. We already have a Groucho here. He's a tuxie, but his mustache is white on black.

Loved that pic!! Been a long time since I had a kitten, but I remember similar behavior. Little piglets, they are, and don't care a whit!

Wow! That's a big mess for a little kitty. Glad to hear everyone seems to be doing well.

Re: Kittens in a bag
A man appeared on my front porch last night with a little 5 week old kitten he had found under a trailer. The kitten is healthy, so I put him in w/ the gang. Six kittens are a lot of work!

Re: Kittens in a bag
The new kit is doing well. He eats Kitten Chow, and drinks a few sips from the bottle to be polite. He's a little shy at the food dish when I serve them kitten gruel, so I put him at the dish first and give him a head start. He has a lovely little musical mew (the other kittens are very demanding!) and he loves to be held and petted and combed. He hangs with the little red tabby from LWTCBI a lot; they look like brothers.
I saw the biggest shaggiest "swimmer" kitten eating kibble today. It's the first time I've seen him eat from a dish, so that's a relief. He still prefers the bottle, though. Everyone will need an actual bath tomorrow or the next day. They really dive into that food dish enthusiastically.
I got a box from LWTCBI today with 2 kinds of formula powder (one called 2nd step), two bottle kits, and some other goodies for the kits, so that will all come in handy.

I wish you were here, too, Fiffur. I work a long day, and there are lots of kittens, so sometimes their meals are a little rushed. Charlize is the LITTLEST kitten, but she has the biggest appetite.

Re: Kittens in a bag
She's just trying to make up for lost growing time, after all you need fuel to grow. Just give her a lil time, she'll catch up with the rest in size. I'd give her a nice dinner, even if that means two bottles! (we had one lil guy who did just that--two bottles to everyone elses' one)
Oh, to bottlefed lil ones again, and burp them, and clean them up, and put them in the litterpan and make their lil paws dig in the litter..........the memories are just flooding back. Those tiny mews and purrs make it well worth it though.

Awwww, they look so adorable. Such sweet cute lil faces! I see their eyes are on the verge of changing from blue to whatever color they're meant to have for life. **hoping for green**

Re: Kittens in a bag
The orange boy w/ the white face is the one that was dropped off at my house (not dumped exactly--I was home and all). He's a real snugglebug. The others mainly want to be fed, and will chew on my fingers and scratch at my hand for food even when their bellies are crammed full of kitty mush and kibble. The man who found the orange boy says there are 4-5 more under the abandoned trailer, but he can't get to them. He will try to get them when they come out like their brother did. I hope that I'll have a place to put them by then.

That sweet boy was the bravest of his lot, then. I hope the man can coax the rest. Poor little mites!

Aww. I hope he can get the others. We have a trailer like that down the street, and it's the source of our feral colony.

I love the look on the kitten's face in the first snap. Like he's saying "What are you looking at?
Are you looking at me?" Too precious

He's saying "If you don't want me to climb your bare leg, don't stand next to me. What's the big deal?"
