How's the weather?

We got more snow too......woke up to 4 with windchill of -11 this morning. a 7 layer morning for work, I don't usually have to dress like that until late January.
It's actually warmed up......17 but feels like 1.

I've been shoveling at work the past 2 days now and putting out salt. Doing the state plows' job, I'm tempted to send them a bill for all that hand shoveling.

More shoveling......and more subzero crap to deal with.
I am seriously learning to hate winter fast.

I'm not sure what that shiny orb is, but the sky changed to a weird color and a huge bright thing was hanging there. It's chilly, but not as bad as expected. I did have to breathe on the clips that hold the hay nets on the fence this morning. They were frozen shut.

It's dropped here again tonight but supposed to climb back
into the 60's over the weekend.

Dull, gray, gloomy. Just not a nice day at all.

The closest major weather reporting station to where I live is in a little town called Sugar Grove, where they have the Aurora Airport, if that makes any sense at all. You'd think it would be the Sugar Grove Airport. But I digress. The thermometer at that reporting station is basically situated down in a ditch, and the readings are crazy cold in the winter time, so you can't really rely on them. I don't know why they don't move the thermometer to higher ground where it would be more accurate. When I got up yesterday to the -6° at my house, the Aurora Airport reading was -16°.

Today is a balmy 31° - but show is on the way.

Winter storm warning here. No telling how much we will get. I have heard different amounts of snow.

-15 for Wednesday, all day long. A tad warmer after that....so it can snow some more on us. Been snowing since sometime last night, and still coming down as I type this. 26 this morning, not getting warmer than that at all today.

Improving. There's no water pouring out of the sky, and the mud is kind of not as bad as expected. I haven't lost a boot yet! Chilly, gray, and puddly is an improvement!

It was bright and sunny today. Tomorrow is warmer and dry. Then chilly again. I just hope for a week or so of dry weather. We have some puddles that come 1/2 way up horse legs.

it's snowing

3 more inches of that slippery white stuff I don't want to see......and shovel.
It's sunny but cold out there, wind picking up so all that stuff is blowing around. Only 16 this morning but felt like 3 for work...where I kept warm shoveling the entire shift after walking to work. I wonder how many calories I burned off with all that shoveling?

It snowed like mad earlier this morning. Thankfully I was already at work, and it's stopped now. Looks like we're in for a very active winter. I'm hoping this will be our last one in northern Illinois. Wesley is going back out to AZ later this month to look at another house.
