How's the weather?

I don't want to think about what kind of winter we're going to have. three snow storms already and it's not even winter yet. at least they haven't been major, just a coupl inches each time. the sun is out today. its 26 deg going up to 35. by sunday we should be hitting 60 before ther next cold snap hits

Brace yourself Bobcat....weatherman said we're going to get everything tomorrow night: rain, freezing fog, sleet, ice, snow.....then a MAJOR storm Saturday night into Sunday. Not sure yet who'll get it worse, depends on how it tracks. I might be waking up Sunday to over a foot of that nasty stuff I hate shoveling! Then of course, the temps drop into the deep freeze again.

  I heard those scary stories too, Fif! I'm not looking forward to a major storm over the weekend. Fortunately, I only have wrapping and the grocery store to worry about. Maybe I'll hit the grocery on Friday evening instead of Saturday.

Speaking of grocery stores, the one we frequented most is going out of business a couple of days after Christmas. All of the Dominick's (Safeway) stores in IL are either closing or being sold to other chains. Ours, unfortunately looks like one that will close for good.

Fif, that's terrible is there another store you can shop that's not too far
away.

That wasn't Fif, but me. I have more stores than you can shake a stick at. Could be one reason that no one bought out my local Dominick's.

We're supposed to get to 70 degrees this weekend.   Confusing after the COLD weather we've been having. Then, on Monday, we get rain and chilly. Virginia... Wait 5 minutes if you don't like the weather.

ICE!!! ACK!!! 25° and humid as hell. Was entertained this morning during breakfast waiting for the weather report by the salt truck doing the bank parking lot getting stuck and spinning his wheels for 15 minutes. You'd think he would've thought to spread some of that salt directly under his wheels and SLOWLY drive off. But nooooo......

Almost fell on my butt twice just getting to the garage to go to work.....kids walking in the snow to get to the bus stop since that was safer than trying to walk on the sidewalk. Everything I salted down yesterday was slick....ice on top of the salt I laid down on the crosswalks. At least the motorists were for the most part driving for conditions: slow and cautious. One kid tried to walk to school, got as far as the corner from his house, then gave up and accepted a ride from somebody driving by.

More ice while I was at the computer this morning, then a bit of rain, now it's misting out and temps are falling. My afternoon shift should be fun, fun, fun. Snow coming.....and a lot of it. Entire weekend is shot already, I just know it.

Rain, rain, rain go away. It started to rain last night and hasn't stopped since.

It was 70 today and wonderfully sunny. Sigh… Tomorrow is thunderstorms, and then it starts to cool down. Rain, of course. Just as the mud was starting not to suck the boots off my feet. Heehee!   

it reached 73 here (the old record was 63. but it was overcast with some rainshowers. temps actually going down today, and by tomorrow will only be in the 30s.

We got more ice on Saturday....then about 5 inches of snow on top of it. Every church in the area was closed.....hardly anything except snow plows were moving around here. And the one at the bank plowing and salting down got stuck for about 15 minutes while I was having breakfast Saturday afternoon.

-9 yesterday with windchill of -24....we never did get those windchills above 0 yesterday. Snowed last night, about an inch.

Today: -6 with windchill of -16. We might get above 0 for windchill today, but maybe not. Supposed to get more snow tonight and the weatherman is warning people not to drive on 'these treacherous roads if you've been drinking'. Any bets on how many sirens I hear during the night tonight?

Yes...what lovekitties said...we are getting a lot of snow!   

There is a winter advisory out for most of the state. There might be four inches already and still snowing.

Snow, snow, snow! It's been coming down fairly steadily since New Year's Eve, and it doesn't look like it's going to let up any time soon. My drive to work was quite an adventure.

TOO MUCH #$@&%! SNOW AND COLD!!! My walk to the garbage bin at my complex this morning was .....interesting. I nearly fell down the stairs they were so slippery. No plowing, no salting, lot's all drifted...and more came down this morning. No sign of the managers and no plow.    We ended up with about 6 inches between New Years Eve (roads were a MESS!) and last night when it finally quit for a while. I have to walk across the yard to my moms' with a two large garbage bags over my boots/legs to keep the snow out. And that's walking where it isn't drifted!   
Next week: in the deep freezer for us, like this week only worse. Work will be a challenge, bundled up so much I can barely move yet have to shovel out the huge snow pile the state plows so nicely put on the crosswalk and my work area. Meanwhile, my apartment is a fridge now. Brrrrrr.....

Well I'm not going to remark on mine, I'm in better shape than y'all.

The HIGH on Monday is predicted to be -8°! The low could be -20° - or worse!

Hope everyone with the really severe stuff is OK. VERY windy in Atlanta last night...overnight low 22 degrees but wind chill was 8. Sad for any outside kitties.

Done snowing.....for now. I won't be surprised if 5-6 inches fell from this recent storm that went through. Subzero temps for next week has been predicted.

Bright and sunny. Still pretty cold for this part of the world.
