Re: BIJOUX
He really is......I got a wonderful greeting when I got there half frozen yesterday. Purring, nuzzling, kissing, and melting into me. Bij stayed with me most of the evening, but the wetfood revue show started a bit early. So cute how he tried to love me up to get it early.....didn't work though. He even tried that act on mom. Didn't work with her either. But as soon as I got up and hobbled to the wetfood cabinet to get a can a black streak went by me......and the dancing was already underway as I scooped up dinner. Cheerful trill followed by sounds of lips smacking......mmmm mmmm good! Wetfood scented thank you kisses and more cuddles. Then off to the cuddlebed after he burped. Got several nice warm nitenite kisses.

He must have taught Mouski about the burp. He's been a burp-y little guy these days.

Re: BIJOUX
Those burps come from wolfing down the wetfood. In some cultures it's considered polite to burp after a meal, it's a compliment to the cook. Guess they're trying to let us know it was soo good they couldn't help but eat it fast.
Bij was right at the door again, waiting to warm me up. I was late since I said bye bye to the car, watching it be hauled off to the junkyard. Bij is such a sweetie, after warming my face and chest with some snuggles and kisses, he warmed my lap very well for a long time. I told him, then showed him, how cold my hands were and petted him with my warm forearms instead. Bij didn't seem to mind that. But he sure appreciated the scritchies and backrub after my fingers thawed out. When his dinnertime rolled around, he looked at the clock, then mewed softly at me. Off to the kitchen....you should've seen it. I asked if he wanted dinner, got a tiny mew yes, and flew off my lap to the kitchen. You could tell he was happy about it just from his body language! Wonderful thankyou burp, then disappeared into the bedroom. Didn't come back......found him tucked into a tiny spot on the bed in a box. How he managed to get in there I don't know. But he stayed in there so that's where I got my nitenite kisses snubbed.

Mouski purr burps. He purrs so hard that I think he swallows air. It's really cute, but I try to calm him down when he does it. I don't want him getting hiccups.

Re: BIJOUX
I haven't heard a kitty hiccup since we handraised those kittens when I was 8!
Bij was so sweet again last night. Mom and I spent the entire day looking for a car (with no luck) before my afternoon shift. Mom reports as soon as she got home he was right there to warm her up. And he was also right there to warm me up when I got there (with damp freshly washed hair). Gave me warm kisses, cheek rubbing (thank you, my cold cheeks needed that), and purrs to make me feel better. Warmed my lap quite a bit too. Mom left for a long while, and Bij sat by the door softly crying for her. Told him she'd be back but he kept on sitting there crying. I had to go get him so he'd stop crying and snuggle with me a bit more. When mom finally came back he did not leave me, just gave her a look. I'm the one who got him his dinner, fresh water, fresh crunchies, burped him (two this time!), and a short thankyou snuggle. Once again he snuggled in that tiny lil spot on the bed, surrounded by boxes, napping. At least I wasn't snubbed for kisses this time. I gave and got a few!

Bij was a real sweetheart for me. We got back from picking up the car and taking it to work. Bij gave us both a thorough sniff (strange car smell) and asked me for snuggles. I left after that to get a shower in, and back with damp hair that got quite a bit of Eau de Bijoux treatment. Went to see Brads new floor (they finally did it right!), put some things in their proper place. Bij was right at the door when I got back, wanting his dinner. Nice dinner WITH catnip sprinkled on top...was he surprised to get that. Great thankyou snuggles. And off to nap in that tiny spot on the bed again, where I got a couple nitenite kisses in the dark.
Boy does he blend in the with dark....I couldn't see him at all but I knew he was there.

Nope.....mom and my sis picked out a Saturn Ion. I mostly only get to drive it to take mom places. I have to ask permission to use it for anything else. Makes me feel like a newly licensed teenager begging to use the family car. Feels insulting and demeaning. I am still walking.....4 miles and counting today.
At least Bijoux loves me.

Re: BIJOUX
VERY sweet boy! Every single night Bij is at the door waiting for me, mewing a greeting, then watching me strip the extra layers off. Instant cuddles and lap warming with plenty of warm kisses and purrs too. Bij has been my little buddy for days now and I am not complaining. I'm loving the kitty attention (mom isn't--she complains she has no privacy). Got his dinner for him, hugged and burped him, and got to cuddle some more afterwards. I even got nitenite kisses even though he knew I was leaving for home.

Awww! Doesn't your mom know that there is no personal time of space when a kitty wants attention?

Re: BIJOUX
Apparently not....he thinks he has to supervise you when you're using the human litterbox.
Bij was waiting at the door for me again last night. Seemed a tad impatient while I stripped off the extra layers. Got loads of purrs and warm kisses...plenty of cuddles too. Only left long enough to see who was at the door, get a drink, go potty, eat dinner. Back on my lap or my chest the rest of the evening. Nice combing session and massage too. Got enough hair to build a mouse out of so shedding season seems to have started here despite the weather outside.
Lots of loving nitenite kisses when I asked for them.

Everyone here is blowing their winter coats. I've started getting hair pancakes from the horses, and the kitties are about a pound lighter than they were a couple weeks ago. Bingo is shedding, but he isn't as bad yet.

Bij is shedding too.....and a velcrocat for me. Since he didn't see me Monday night he was at the door mewing for me last night. Then promptly glued himself to me until dinnertime. I KNOW he missed me by the way he was acting. Head butts, cheek rubbing, kisses galore, purrs, practically melting into me. I got the thankyou snuggle, purrs. Then mom got him dinner, he left long enough to eat, come to me for burping, back to the bowl, and back to me for more cuddles. When Bij got really sleepy from a full belly off he goes to the couch to prewarm it for mom. Got tons of nitenite kisses!

Re: BIJOUX
Such a sweet boy.....snuggles every chance he can get when I'm there, greets me at the door with a mew, sees me to the door or the patio door, asks me for dinner. Last night he had to ask for water, mom had washed the bowl and replaced it but forgot to fill it! Poor lil guy had no water for several hours. Asked him what he wanted and he headed straight for the water bowl and gave me a pitiful tiny sad mew.
Bij has been so sweet and loving this past week....makes my aching body feel better just to hear him purr and getting kisses from him.
Last night he only got to see me for about 2 hours, and was glued to me except for dinnertime. I even got an escort to the patio door, complete with sniffing the cold night air.
Night before last he saw Celeste and expected to see quiet laid back Buddy with her, only to be terrified to get barked at by a jumpy overly enthusiastic Starry (who is only 5 months old). Bij puffed up and RAN for the apartment. Was still spooked and puffed for nearly a half hour, searching the apartment warily for Starry. He was quite wary when we approached the lobby, where he last saw Starry.
What will Bij think when he doesn't have to escort me to the patio door anymore, but down the hall instead?

He will probably be so excited that he can come to your house! If he goes to the patio door, it'll be for walks.

Re: BIJOUX
He already is spoiled rotten, to the core and beyond!
Bij was right at the door waiting for me again this weekend. Mom reports he sits in the window watching the birds....I think he watches mostly for me these days as I'm usually a tad late. I get loads of snuggles, purrs, kisses....and rarely does he bug mom now if I'm there. I know a couple hours here and there aren't much, and he misses me. I will make up for lost time after I'm moving in. I bet he learns the way to my new place fast and will drag mom there every chance he gets out in the hallway for a ride/walk. I get lots of nitenite kisses even though he knows I'm leaving.
Bij will be sniffing everything, exploring everything as I unpack after the 6th....just have to be sure nothing is out that he will get in trouble with: plastic bags, string, ribbon. He can have fun playing in the empties. And rig up some strong window screens so I can have it open without him falling out when the weather is nice. The ones that came with the windows is so flimsy and weak I don't want to take any chances. I think the first time he comes to visit though I will show him water/food bowls in the kitchen and the litterpan in the bathroom so he knows where they are (I have the bowls but need the litterpan yet).

Re: BIJOUX
Do you have any of those screens that "squish" in the open window. You open the window, slide the screen to the width of the window frame, and close the window on top of the screen. We used those for years. They fit pretty tight into the windows, so they're strong. They're pretty cheap too. You could make them with 1x2s, screen, and wood staples, but it's probably cheaper to buy them.

Re: BIJOUX
I have several of those sliding window screens, just have to find out if I can install a few eye hooks to keep them firmly in place. That way I can have a fan in the window at night to blow in cooler air. (save on AC costs IF the place has one)
Bij was right at the door waiting for me, dancing around. He'd seen me refill the birdfeeder and I was a tad later than usual. Jumped up on the walker seat so he'd be closer (couldn't wait for me to pick him up I guess). Bij was a regular velcrocat for me. Only left when I asked if he wanted dinner, got a very short thank you snuggle, then off to bed for a nap. Got sleepy kisses nitenite though.

You could probably put a rod in the screen to keep it from sliding open, sort of like what people put into their sliding doors.
