Re: Junko, calico kitten
Few years ago, I started to keep half a tank of fuel. It was increase in gas prices that got me to start doing that. I know to fill up my car when there is a upcoming bitter cold stretch.

I consistently get down to about 1/8 tank. I fill up so rarely that I never think about it. My usual trips are within 10 miles, so it takes forever to go through gas. Back when I commuted long distances, I would fill up religiously at 1/4 tank.

Right now I don't have a car but I'm planning on buying one around Labor Day. I'm thinking either a Volvo or a Suburu.

I mainly use my car to and from work and some errands. Ten minute ride one way to work.

The only upside to my last job was the commute ten feet from my front door to the side door to where I worked.

Re: Junko, calico kitten
I did that when I commuted. I work from home now, so I lump errands together depending on where I need to go. Today, I need to go far away for errands. Such a haul! Lol

Local zoo will have a recycle drop off this coming Saturday and there is just enough unused, partially working electronics laying around to make it worth going to. It's matter of collecting all of it before then. I want to figure out where else I can go after that to take advantage of my time out.

I recycle unwanted electronics instead of throwing it away.

If there's a Betty Buy close to you, they have a program for phones and I think laptops. The one thing to be absolutely certain of is that you wipe all your data from whatever you're recycling. I would trust an electronics place like Best Buy, but at the community programs, they probably don't have someone dedicated to making sure you didn't leave your personal stuff on it. I am paranoid since my credit card got compromised. Thank goodness that was all and my bank was good about fixing things.

Also, here, the women's shelter takes phones for donation. They can be used without a plan for people who need to make emergency calls. Again, the "wipe your data" thing applies.

Re: Junko, calico kitten
those are so old and the batteries are shot so that's not a worry. I understand about the credit card. I lost one several years ago. I was lucky, it didn't turn into a hot mess.
